I suppose theres an awkward 'cut-off' point in this game where we are guessing, and the prices up to that point are not worth backing really.
That cut-off point I would suggest is for o 8.5 where the pirce is currently evens.
I would say if Nigeria can score 6 then spain if really wanting it, can get more, but then id also say anything over 10 is asking a little too much even for them because I doubt they'll just keep firing on all cylinders one they scored say, 8...for that reason id play safe and back o 7.5 and hope the price on that gets better not worse.

the people laying the likes of 4-1,5-1.... at above 200 must go to a mental institution. why on earth do they lay at that price when they can lay tahiti to win between 400 and 600

imo if you are going to back over 7.5 you might as well bet Spain -7 @ around 1.8 on here, seeing as it is quite unlikely Tahiti will score and the odds are much better.

If Tahiti don't turn up Spain would be awarded a 3-0 victory.

That is by far and away the best result they can hope for.

Silly

again, imagine how boring this game would be without betting, and the variety of obscure markets you can bet on nowadays.

Forum poll - after all this excitement about how many goals Tahiti will concede, do you think the Spain v Tahiti goal odds are..

a) Too short - Tahiti will play different tactics, Spain will be complacent and score maybe 5-6
b) Too long - Tahiti are awful, Spain will walk it into the net and score 10+
c) Just about right
d) I dont have a ****g clue

My vote is....dLaugh

FWIW, I have backed Spain HT/FT @1.05...you can back over 4.5 goals at a similar price, but why bother?

i suspect most people saying spain wont get 10 didnt watch the other game. id be surprised if they didnt get 10 personally. ive had a grand on over 9.5 and a grand on over 8.5

This is not betting on football, it's too silly for words.

If this was San Marino or Andorra I'd say it could be as little as 4-0 or 5-0. Difference is that those sides are better at defending because they have to do it all the time in European qualification, whereas Tahiti are playing teams who are vaguely on the same level as them, except for New Zealand. Tahiti therefore are much better going forward but are weaker at the back than the European minnows. Even if they try and play defensively they won't be at all successful. I would say Spain -7 was pretty safe, I wouldn't want to play any higher handicaps though.

I expect San Marino have an experienced reasonably well paid professional coach.  My understanding is that the Tahiti coach is officially unemployed.

I love betting on stuff like this.  Far more interesting than a standard game of football.

Oceania should not get a direct spot in this tournament to start.  And Oceania should check their heads to make sure they at least send the best possible representation, not by having a meaningless tournament to determine the rep.

No matter how you look at it the match is going to be a total farce.  The only ones interested are degenerate gamblers and that's about it.

anyone seen the Betfair FO market: will Spain more goals than Tahiti's possession stat?   It's 6/1 currently, what kind of %'s have we seen in the past for mismatches

go to Betfair sportsbook, navigate to Spain vs. Tahiti in the confed cup, make sure all markets is selected at the top and on my screen it's at the very bottom.  my max was £10 though :/  but if Celtic only had 16% possession against Barcelona (and won) I think it could be value
By:

the possession will be around 90% so youre hoping again for 10/11 goals

If I were Tahiti, I'd be pretty insulted by that market. I'll be taking the no at 1/10

I expect San Marino have an experienced reasonably well paid professional coach

He's the longest serving national manager in Europe, and possibly the world.

How can it be a match when it's ''no offers'' one side?

Plenty of 'opportunities' indeed, for the bookmakers IMO.

Barca always have mercy on their opponents when hammering them in the first half and I expect Spain to do the same and not break the 10 goal barrier. Those expecting 31-0 will be disappointed. Spain will spend lots of time just bopping about for a laugh and won't be too arrsed about going crazy on the goals.

yeah me too, seeing as im on over 8.5 and 9.5. may be tempted to have a saver on 8-0 if it was up.

I honestly think Spain will struggle to keep the scoring in single figures against Tahiti as they are so bad, maybe if they were park the bus merchants the score would be under 10 but i just cant see it as they try to play attacking footballLaugh

The last quarter of the game against Nigeria they all looked very very tired and with Spain making some subs who i'm sure will want in on the action i expect there to be 5 or 6 in the last 20 minutes alone.

will be having small bets on everything o8.5

looking forward to this oneExcited

i'm curious, are you aware that you're betting on over 9 goals to be scored at odds of about 1.92? does that actually register in your head?

seriously people, i'm all for backing goals and handicaps but backing cricket scores just because it's Spain is a recipe for disaster - look at FA Cup giant killing or the likes of Faroe Islands, San Marino, Haiti, Liechtenstein, Malta, Andorra etc...

it's incredibly rare any side gets in to double digits in competitive football, no matter what teams are playing. i'm gonna be laying anything over 10+ all day long as i feel it's almost too good to be true - over 15.5 goals matched at 12's - who in the right mind thinks this will end *at least* 16-0???

most of the betting fraternity seem to be hovering in around 6 - 7-0 as  the most likely score

Can you name a single example of a team as good as Spain playing a team as bad as Tahiti ?

If such games were common then 10+ scorelines would not be incredibly rare

yeah 6-0 has been specially heavily attacked
