Well played Everton you deserved to win and don't understand why you haven't had an investor to enable you to truly compete with the best.

This thread is hilarious I must have been at a different game last night!! We were always value for the first goal and when it went in we did our usual (stupidly) and sat back. Utd had pretty much all of the possession without much effort on goal. Rooney was quiet, rvp and young were shocking and the majority of the nitty gritty decisions were woeful. How Scholes stayed on the pitch was laughable as well as nani!! Amazing how different fans see different games lol

Everton are what they are ,their performance last night was par, this was more about Utd and their inability to reach the standard of performance they have over the years, past Utd teams win that game last night .

Do you know what a big part of it is. Reputation, we used to be beat before we've got out of the tunnel in recent years performances have steadily improved and we are no longer scared of you. Don't be too surprised if ther teams of a similar stature start feeling the same way and Utd struggle a bit more. You can mock all you like but you are no longer the force you were and I can see you slipping down the league unless some more signings are made

Envy that is exactly what I posted on either this thread or one of the others on the same subject, but don't feel special we do that with every decent team we come up against the worrying thing for you is it never usually works as decent attacking sides usually bust us!

Personally I'm still considering us unbeaten seeing how the game was officiated last night. So if we don't lose another game all season, then my thread last night was proven correct in my eyes.

Anyway I'm done talking about this match now with a bunch of seething ABUs who hate us more than they love their own team. I'm just looking forward to smashing Fulham over the weekend, and then we'll see how many ABU idiots on here are still writing us off.

Bye.

The better team didn't win.

Man U pass completion 88% vs. their 70%
Man U total passes 568 vs. their 193
Man U possession 69% vs their 31%

etc. etc.

The hoof it and hope tactics won out last night. Not the better team

Strange how you missed the most important stats, ie Attempts and Shots on target which Everton won confortably.

Most proper United fans know that last night was a below par performance and but for Fergie would struggle to be top four.

United definitely won one thing on the opening weekend, the club with the most seething, deluded, ignorant fans around. It amazes me how little they understand about football.

Alas they are just a great team in decline, terrified that city will go on and dominate the next decade, its going to be hilarious to see how they cope with the upcoming failures.

If they dont take 3 points from Fulham, I dread to think how much crying we'll see

I'm not enjoying Uniteds defeat
I am enjoying Evertons win
There is a difference

You were out played, we deserved to win, if you cant see that then your opinion on anything football related is invalid.

We battered you for an hour, got the goal, and then sat back to defend
That shows several things
- we had the quality to score, you didnt
- we had the quality to defend, you didnt.

If united want to win the league this season they need a quality central midfielder (kagawa looks decent, but none of the other united central midfielders would get in the everton team, and we finished 7th, Cleverly will be decent but you need another, Scholes has been a legend but is in decline, Carrick simply isnt good enough), and I'd bring in a defender to cover the injuries.

Or you can whine about referees and opposing teams and ignore your own teams frailties, and then wonder why in May, City are lifting the title again.

Stop blaming others for your failings

That comment alone shows how little you know Pootle. I cant be bothered to debate the rest of your inane ramblings. Any neutral football fan knows we were robbed last night, end of story.

Unfortunately everyone knows I know more about football than you will ever know

If united dont address their weaknesses then they wont win the league.
You can blame referees and put your fingers in your ears, and refuse to watch the first hour last night when De Gea kept you in it, or you can face the fact uniteds team has a weakness that needs addressing

You need quality in midfield.

Without it, city will likely win the title, if not maybe chelsea but I suspect City.
We wont be the first team to take you apart unless you strengthen.

I'm being reasonable, I havent even mentioned your full backs.

I dont expect a considered reply, you've proven in 1000+ posts you have got a bobbies about football, you probably just check the scores and then cheer or cry.

but I don't care if united win the league or city, united winning it makes it easy to wind up the red****, and city winning it will net us a million more in the rodwell deal.
So on that I am neutral, but blaming the ref for your sides weakness, is as daft as the few liverpool fans who blamed Dowd for their defeat at the weekend.

Anderson, Cleverly, Carrick, each would struggle to get a game for any other top 4 side, Anderson would be lucky to get a game in any top 10 side.
That needs addressing
Or put it another way, not one of them would have been allowed on the same team coach as Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Butt, back in the day.

Not good enough.
As a Manchester united fan, you should expect more, you should demand more, you should have standards.

only read the top 3 posts but how about the shallow f****** in red take Everton for granted as they did Wigan and weren't prepared to put in a £100k a week worth ethic? The likes of a fat Wayne Rooney dragging £250k a week is enough to make much lesser paid players want to perform and prove a point. The game is nuts over here. Rooney would only get a game with Messi et al through his sponsors adverts.Too many sad tw8ts thinking they get value for many. United played pretty but ineffective keep ball. No passion or drive just pay me for turning up football. Everton won because they tried and endeavoured, ManUre didn't.

No you idiot, it shows I have a reasoned and balanced opinion.

I know full well Everton wont win the league, we will finish somewhere between 8th and 5th, we dont have the depth of squad for more than that, although our first 11 is starting to look very good.

I mean really why did you even bother to post, all you did was make yourself look like a moron, is that a deliberate hobby of yours, looking like an idiot on the internet.

I dont hate united at all, I know Everton dont have the squad or consistent quality to win the title. I also know United have a weakness in midfield.

You can ignore it all you like, but ultimately the denial will cause you tears.

As for highlight of the season, it will be one of them for sure, beating the second best team at home on opening weekend when we usually dont turn up until Christmas is great.

I'm a realist, and I call it as I see it, united have weaknesses in midfield. City have some dodgy players too, like Barry and Milner, but they have Yaya Toure, united havent got a midfielder anywhere near his level.

If you want a sensible footy chat, bring it on, or you can continue to post things that make you look stupid, its your choice, I dont mind.

biscuit knows Cool

I would expect united fans who have seen some of the great sides over the past 15yrs to demand more

perhaps they are just accepting of mediocrity now ?

I know a few united fans in real life who are not happy with the current squad, they demand quality, perhaps on the interwebs this is less common
