cant understand why some think Rangers would struggle in the lower divs .
Rangers debt free with a large fan base , possibly fan ownership, might be hard for some on here to accept a couple of baron years Rangers can only get stronger , , |

I am a falkirk fan and we are the club that 1998 were placed in administration and who subsequently paid every creditor every single penny owed to them.We were relegated a few seasons ago and had to cut our playing staff and commercial staff virtually to the bone,we had to compete with a bunch of kids who should have been in there beds by 9o clock never mind playing against fully fledged professionals.Luckily by taking these actions when we did the club is now back on a healthy financial footing. For anyone who does'nt know what this process is called i can enlighten them its called INTEGRITY.

hopefully fans of div 1 teams will do the same as the fans of the spl and refuse rangers entry ,its now a case of principles over money.
rangers will make the same cash if not more in div 3 and thats where the vast majority of rangers fans want to go .its in the interest of justice and fairness ,give the people what they want ,dont bend to coruption . 3 years without a visit to the piggery ,can ye no add a couple of zeros on the end . div3 is the place to be . they will enjoy playing at ibrox infront of 50k fans and rangers can grow a all scottish team from scratch . bring it on . |
|
By:
Do you honestly think 50k will turn up at Snake Mountain to watch games against Elgin City or East Stirling?? The novelty will wear off pretty sharpish.

This whole situation gets more bizarre by the day.For example:
Tomorrow Charles Green is to report to the SFA with the appropriate paperwork to apply for his sevco company to be part of the SFL. As part of the process Charles Green must be seen to be a fit and proper person to own said company. The SFA say the previous owner of the old company which was Rangers must provide a due diligence report on Charles Green for the newco...now here's the rub The previous owner is deemed to be Duff & Phelps who are at present being investigated by their own governing body for their (mis)handling of this whole administration fiasco. They along with Sir David Murray,Craig White, and Charles Green are at present part of an investigation by Strathclyde Fraud Squad into the sale and subsequent admin/Liqidation of Rangers. When you add into the melting pot the EBT scandal and consider that the SFA's chief executive is one Campbell Ogilvie who was himself a receiver of an EBT whilst serving on the board of RFC then surely there is a massive conflict of interest issue here. I was about to say FIFA should be stepping in here and sorting this shambles out but ..... |
|
By:
the whole EBT issue needs investigation ,rangers had them in their accounts since 2001 ,celtic also dipped their toe into them .If they were in the accounts and the sfa/spl signed off said accounts since 2001 how come they did not pick up on alledged "double contracs" big tax bill still not revealed ,whole alledged double contract issue is heresay and flak .
spl club fans all think due to celtic mindedmedia double contacts are FACT and spl/sfa are on thin ice .rangers must not allow the vultures a second feast on their carcase . div3 for me. |
|
By:
EBT's are pretty much a fact if the BTC tribunal decided in favour of HMRC which means Rangers were making unregistered payments to players and were diddling the tax man to do so.
|
|
By:
The strange thing is that we have heard from every club in the SPL what their views are.
Oh except one that is - Glasgow Celtic. Their silence is deafening. Speak up Mr.Lawlell,i mean normally we can't shut you up. |
|
By:
Have to be seen to be doing something so a drop just to Div 1 seems a very short fav to me.
|
|
By:
EBT,s are very much not fact ,BTC not announced (FACT).
EBT,s were in rangers yearly accounts since 2001 and very much not unregistered payments and likely to never be seen as double contacts .FACT. we have heard from everyone except rangers fans ,they dont want to go into div1 ,they want to go to div3 where all new league applications MUST start ,there is no way rangers fans will buy tickets for div1 footall ,div3 or nothing . no way rangers will accept the conditions ,if they do they can say goodbye to 20k season tickets imo. if the club asks fans to buy a season ticket at spl price and rangers go to div3 its a huge goer .in fact if they do a deal with the corupt sfa/spl they are in for a very rough ride . div 3 or nothing . gives them three years to regroup and put a team of scottish players on the park . and lets the corrupt SPL fester in celtics vile and putrid "integrity" . |

"The strange thing is that we have heard from every club in the SPL what their views are.
Oh except one that is - Glasgow Celtic. Their silence is deafening. Speak up Mr.Lawlell,i mean normally we can't shut you up. " Why do Celtic/lawell ned to say anything? The club formerly known as Rangers - TCFKAR - have allowed tyhemselves enough rope to hang (draw and quarter) themselves. The mob outside Ibrox earlier this week - led by Rab C Brown - speak volumes. If he is fronting a consortium what on earth are the rest of them like? The hanging of two blow- up doll effigies (two hvns will be sleeping alone tonight) and the bombast, malevolance and bigotry on display was as portentous as it was predictable. Are there no spokesmen for TCFKAR that don't look and sound like rejects from a Big Brother audition? |

RANGERS = black and blue

Bread and Butter can you not read I said EBT's are a fact if the tribunal in the BTC decide in favour of HMRC you nugget.
According to the SFA payments as part of a players salary and their contracts have to registered. These payments were not as Rangers were saying they were loans which if the BTC case goes againt them and decides they were part of a players swage and not a loan then they are unregistered payments. It doesn't matter if they were in the accounts unless they were in the accounts as part of the players wages which they obviously were not becuase Rangers said they were loans. There doesn't need to be double contracts but I can't see someone like Ferguson just accepting he would receive these payments regularly without him having it in writing somewhere. |

Sky and the Masons....TO THE RESCUE ........................................ Would you care to explain how "the Masons" are implemented in this please? |
|
By:
The reorganisation of Scottish football HAS to be independent from the sanctions/punishments imposed on Rangers.
The creation of SPL2, which would then invite Rangers over Dumbarton, solely to help get Old Firm games back on our TV screens within a timeframe that Sky find accecptable would be an utter disgrace. |
|
By:
agreed. it's the usual pathetic short termism from the authorities. a chance to break decisively from a shambolic status quo where most of the clubs already don't have a pot to piss in and they try to devise a method whereby the status quo would almost be reasserted within a year in part because they are worried about the financial implications of dismantling the status quo.
why don't they wake up and realise that extra income will be wasted on salaries, cuts in income will result in lower salaries, and either way none of the clubs are going to become european powerhouses? instead of worrying about how to keep the plates spinning why don't they allow scottish football to properly reinvent itself with a little regained integrity? |
|
By:
Hi John
Most people would agree that the reorganisation of Scottish football has been long overdue. I also agree that this should be done independently of the Rangers situation. The word `integrity` has been bandied about bigtime in the past few months, Scottish Football has fk all to do with `integrity`. This is the same set up that has had two teams, namely Celtic & Rangers, bossing the voting system 2-10 for years ![]() The last time I looked we still live in a democracy here in Scotland, when was the last time a political election was won with such figures? |
|

tambhoy.
Please stop posting long links. They f*ck everything up for people on the 'new' forum. Thanks. |

Yes there is Bread and Butter but I had to simplify it the second time so you could understand. "IF they decided" I said which was correct first time as the tribunal has sat and decided their verdict it just hasn't been issued yet

dundee a team that was in admin more times than hertz failed to pay wages on time(well not that many ) ,a team that rang circles around sanctions with loan deals , and a team with magic power to overcame a 25 point penalty without any players ,oh yea the game is full of integrity in "scotland" .a twenty five point penalty with no players ."integrity" my fookin erse
rangers should just give next season a miss imo ,and probably wont play anywhere . |

By:
Sandy Jardine:--
“Rangers are a special case mainly because of the size of the club within Scottish football and what it delivers. “We’ll get a bit of pain, but everybody else is going to get a bit of pain too.” He added that details of supporter’s sanctions against the unnamed clubs would be announced this weekend. He explained: “Having gone round and met a lot of the supporters and people within the club, I think people are absolutely sick and tired of everybody having a kick at us when we’re down. "We are going to have a meeting with all the delegates from the whole of Britain, and some of them will be flying in from abroad, on Saturday. “Out of that, the supporters will take sanctions against clubs which we deem have been unfair to ourselves. "I'm not going to go into the actual details but we will probably announce that after the meeting with the supporters clubs.” This statement is why every club in Scotland should vote no. |

Falkirk 1,
Us Ger`s men realise where you are coming from m8. The mainstream support want to go to Div 3, no danger. |
|
By:
Bread they are all putting the boot in cos we are the most successful club in Scotland , just remember we will have 3 baron years , then be back debt free to rule the roost over these diddy clubs , the likes of falkirk Raith Rovers etc the have contributed feck all to football in Scotland , for a brief moment in 144 years someone cares what they think , let them enjoy it while they can
|
|
By:
And this is the attitude skullery, why everyone has no sympathy for the club that was formerly known as rangers.
|
|
By:
Watch the Steven Presley interview. He is one of the most honest and intelligent people in the Scottish game. He sees this so-called league restructuring for what it is - a move engineered for all the wrong reasons. i.e to save Rangers, not Scottish football.
And this is from a former Rangers player. The SPL and SFA should be ashamed of themselves. |
|
By:
that statement was made in 26th april and referred to spl clubs .
there was no mention of div1 . falkirk wat is your gripe with rangers . rangers have not engineered any move to div 1 . this is what is wrong here ,spl trying to save their sorry ass and people blaming rangers . biter twisted ones at that . same old |

Yep! B`N`B
They want us, they dont want us? They want us, they dont want us? |

By:
Oh yes, it's everyone's fault apart from tcfnar!!!! If tcfnar had any shred of decency left they should apologise for their past actions and apply to go directly into div.3.
|
|
By:
Who are the tcfnar!...?
|

It should be tcfkar

It would be interesting if tcfkar joined their fans and came out in support for their willingness to start in Div3.
Then watch the SFA squirm and try to get out of that one by trying to invent yet another excuse to put them in Div 1 / SPL2 / ONE LEAGUE lower than SPL ![]() Of course that will never happen, tcfkar have still shown no remorse, guilt, or a shred of class. |
