I'm gonna have a crazy punt on Guardiola at 20/1.

They may have to move fast on this because Chelsea are going to be in the market if they don't win the Champs league.

just dont get it with martinez, I know he hasnt spent fortunes, but neither have plenty of managers in prem

Wigan were shocking for 7 months of the season, won 4 out of first 29 league games.

Yes a brilliant finish but im far from convinced.

he surely will be contacted

whether he takes it is another matter

reckon chelsea would be more likely to get guardiola

cant see him going to either though

I think Pep would take the job, but it may be a season too soon. I feel he would like a total break for a while.

martinez is a shocking price.....let's get one thing right, wigan have had a bad season, makes you sick doesn't it, a side perform abysmally for most of the season, then pull their socks up for the last few weeks and escape relegation!!! and the manager is regarded as a fecking heroCrazyCrazy

AVB shortneing with the bookies as well. i have a feeling he should be below 6 if not favorite.

Liverpool fan on Talksport think they can get Guardiola!  Imagine swapping Xavi for Henderson, Messi for Carroll.  Iniesta for Downing!

personally I don't think AVB would be a bad choice for Liverpool, he was set up to fail by the players at Chelsea, not to mention I think having Di Matteo as a number 2 was a poor decision bit like the blind leading the blind;

but he has the pedigree there's no denying, and if Liverpool keep hold of Clarke who's always been renouned as a top defensive coach, they could well be a good combination.

Agree with Steptoes and duffy here.

Wigan ended the season superbly but just how good is Martinez? Back in Jan/Feb when they were dead and buried i recall AgentR the Wigan fan on here wanting him sacked.

Think a club like Liverpool need to be aiming higher than Martinez. Klopp from Dortmund would be a great shout.

Can't see Guardiola going anywhere yet, that guy needs a proper break.

don't even go near Benitez...he was the one that started the rot...he dismantled a champions league winning squad and turned Liverpool into Fulham FFS !

paul jewell did just as good a job at wigan but would never have been in picture for any liverpool job going at time. epl obsessed with foreign coaches.

Guardiola can take his pick when he's ready.  Better fit for Arsenal or Man U imo.

Agree with Duffy, SY and Biscuit re Martinez.  Remember when Whelan called him in after the Swansea game and he nearly lost his job.  He's a decent manager but to be favourite for such a big job as Liverpool shows how fickle football is.

is martinez a value lay here plenty of other managers would take it and agree with previous posts is he that good?. no he isn't
By:

When: 16 May 12 17:22
martinez needs to prove himself at a middle ranking team before the top clubs consider him. would be a huge leap in the dark at this stage

David Dein apparently helping find the new manager.

Most Liverpool fans want Rafa i think, i hope they dont go for a flavor of the month manager but if they do i think Brendan Rogers is a very talented young manager that plays the game the right way and is always looking to learn (think hes spending time with the Spanish national team)

jewell and bruce done the same job as martinez and they wouldnt get near a job of that size

"to be favourite for such a big job as Liverpool"...Liverpool incase you have not noticed are now a mid-table mediocre club...the past is the past deal with the now !

you can pooh-pooh Martinez allday long...the fact is the man is a 1st class human being and an excellent football coach...he can only get better.
