i think you will lose your money

Barca might take it easy, with their big game at the weekend. They know they can do the heavy lifting at Camp Nou. But even then, I'd be very surprised if Chelsea won the game.
Barca to win, imo. |
By:
Looks an ok price. I certainly wouldn't be backing Barca at 1.75 with their away record.
By:
no barca dont need to win
By:
You will definitely lose your money if you place a bet on Chelsea beating Barca tomorrow.
By:
Even Arsenal managed to beat Barca at home last season. Barca know they can finish off any team at home.
By:
Lay of Barca is the bet of the week.
By:
Barca will defo beat Chelski over two legs. Of more interest to me is the Munich/Real tie as I have £500 on Munich to win Champions league at 22/1 and £600 on Real @ 5/1 with a refund due on either if they lose to Barca in the final
By:
Madrid on the weekend, uninspiring away form, a resurgent Chelsea, with a score to settle and their biggest games in years. Chelsea to edge it, or at least get a draw, and then get thumped in Camp Nou.
By:
barsa should win easy easy
i will put big money on barsa, maybe my house |
By:
....So Chelsea 5-1 it is then

i cant help remembering the Napoli and Benfica games when the visitors should have been out of sight inside the 1st half hour.....if Chelsea start in a similer fashion tonight i cant see Barca being as forgiving in front of goal. No bet for me though, feet up and enjoy it.

Instead of backing Chelsea to win then putting a "saver on the draw", why not just back Chelsea in the DNB market?
Did you compare value, was doing it this way better value than the equivalent bet through the DNB market? |
By:
cahill first goal 33/1
thanks me later |
By:
chelsea not good enough imo

I am going for Chelsea win. Has the feeling of a England vs Spain friendly. Same odds and everybody writing off the English team, but Barcelona don't have to win and we do better at the Bridge.
By:
No bet on the match tomorrow. Barca too short to be tempted. Chelsea could do the same to Barca as Arsenal did in the first leg of the round of 16 last season.
Big, big bet though on Barca to qualify. Just can't see Chelsea going through unless they win 3-0 (which they won't). |

I like your honesty sj (I'm sure you're a Chelsea man) and I guess the price must be right but last years game at the Emirates springs heavily to mind. Barca led and showboated for over 75 minutes of the game but were eventually unhinged. I think Chelsea are a better equipped side to that Arsenal team. Not quite resurgent but Chelsea's mindset should be sky high for tomorrow's game. A rare opportunity to play without heavy expectation on their shoulders... an opportunity that for most of the season never looked likely...
Chelsea need to be as defiant as Milan but take their chance when it comes. A dead leg on Messi wouldn't go amiss either. A bit odd, the more I waffled on the more I realised how impossible job it is ..... what price are Barca ??? ![]() |

The draw double is the way forward for me in these two Champions League games.
By:
I always love it when Barca backers get carried away = kerching
![]() I mean have Barca actually ever beaten an English side away from home in a 2 leg affair? If they have I cant remember it, yet they are odds on. And some people think gambling is difficult. |

Chelsea 1 - 2 Barcelona 22nd Feb 2006
Arsenal 2 - 4 Barcelona 19th Oct 1999 Newcastle 0 - 2 19th Mar 2003 You're right on the whole though, Barca's record in England isn't that great in terms of wins. A lot of draws however and as some have pointed out here, they don't need to win the game tomorrow night. |
By:
I'm surprised it was as recent as 2006 but in any case there is no way Barca should be odds on. Their record away from home in England is not great. They would be delighted with a draw, if you offered them a draw to take back to Camp Nou they would tear your hand off.

Yes post match they would be content with a draw, but Messi, Xavi Iniesta et al if you offered them a draw they would most probably laugh and then spit in your face (Alves would anyway ).Anyway back Chelsea and bank when they go 1-0 up |

All arguments are flawed because Chelsea are simply rancid. Miles behind a poor Utd team in a poor league.
By:
But it's not a poor league at all this year Platini. (See my thread now on page 3 proving it!)

1.18 for Barcelona in the 'to qualify market", this is very short as I feel Chelsea are due one against these boys from Barca,
By:
1.18 to qualify is surely a lot lot better than 1.73 to win away from home on match odds!
By:
I would prefer a spread bet on the number of times chelsea kick off, in the tie somewhere between 2 and 9 is my guess
By:
This same Chelsea side outplayed Barcelona last time they met. I remember that game well, it was all Chelsea, they should have won 4-1. And in fact you could make a case that the current Chelsea side are even better, with the inclusion of Mata and Torres.
By:
You could make a case highlander, but do you believe that yourself?
And Barca are better than that tie as well. |
By:
Well, since Chelsea got rid of AVB they have looked a lot more like their old selves. I honestly believe they are getting very close to their best. They completely outclassed Spuds the other day. If Torres and Mata can hit top form, then yes they will be even better than they were. Meanwhile, Barcelona do not look as good without Villa up front, his replacements are very much sub-standard. Barcelona struggled against AC Milan and I am pretty sure Chelsea are a much better side than Milan.
By:
LOL
Milan would ga.ngbang Chelski ![]() |
By:
Spuds have been outclassed by everyone since February!

I think 5s at home for any team in this comps semi final at home is a massive price aswell , over two legs its barca for me but chelsea are still there for a reason and i remember the way they shut valencia out when the pressure was on earlier , one of the best defensive performances ive seen this season
Not sure if they can win but maybe lay barca , see nearer time and teams |
By:
I cant see Milan beating Chelsea, sorry. I think Chelsea would wipe the floor with them.

I can understand you're still seething over the CL finals, but as a PRO gambler you should know better than to get feelings involved here. No bet is safest if you dont have a clear head. Hate them if you like, but dont act like a mug Dawson. |

Guys, remember MU and Barca game? Barca was brilliant! I bet they will win tonight.
I do have got much respect for Chelsea :-)but B is better team! |
By:
Personally think that barca are not the side we have seen in the past couple of years but are still going to absolutely dominate the ball tomorrow night with chelsea getting everyone behind the ball and hoping for a lucky break or set piece and on that likely scenario i think that 9/2 ish isn't very attractive.
By:
I agree with Dawsy, lay of Barca is the bet of the week.
Barca @ 1.75 is insane, they don't need to win, they'll be very happy with a draw. |
