rumours that mcdermott has met with wolves tonight

Yeah Reading reporter claims they met but says Reading owner Anton Zingarevich will meet with him tomorrow and obviously wants to keep him.

I'll be meeting with Wolves soon at this rate

Is a bit of a joke, who will be left to take the job?  The guy who comes in will be the 63rd choice.

I say it again though...if Bruce is in the frame, and Wolves met with McDermott tonight, would Bruce tell them to f*** off? I think he would, in which case, why is he still favourite?

It feels like a guesser's market at the moment.

Steve Morgan has never appointed a manager before, and it shows.

Looks like he's guessing at the moment.

A few sources confirming McDermott meeting tonight.  So up to CP owner to convince him to stay.

Agree Bruce should be much higher, just like Curbs though until he rules himself out the market won't believe he's totally out of the picture.

bruce may have his ego hurt but is he going to tell them to **** off? it's not likely he's going to be inundated with other offers

This market shows there aren't too many credible lower level premier league managers.  Plenty of jobs come up with trigger happy chairman, so I reckon Bruce could afford to turn this one down.

Another strange choice, given all that has been said. Hardly an abundance of experience, has he?

Think its clear DESPERATION has set in, looking for anybody with a decent body of work now.

Absolutely.  Moxey should have have painted us into a corner with this "not a job for a novice" nonsense.  I'd be delighted with McDermott, fwiw.

If what has said is true then surely the Chairman looking at a stop gap would engage a senior manager with nothing to lose...

The way things are going at Chelsea,I'd wait for a call from a Russian guy if I were you..

Stop gap managers do not work.
better to appoint a proper manager and go from there.
My guess fwiw....
the club were prepared to take someone out of work asap.
then the strength of applications made it worthwhile to extend the process of interviews.
Let's face it Mick has only been gone a week.

luna bid what planet are you on.Ask for more than a score and you will be laughed out of court. I remember when the next Huddersfield manager market was out (the last time). Was drinking with an old Premiership pro (namedropper) and he told me Lee Clarke was in the frame.Had an account with Skybet (when they actually took bets).Rang them up and asked for £200 at 25/1.Was laid £20 at 25/1 and they cut the price to 6/1.As Birchy would say.....Happy Days....

Good chance McDermott and Poyet don't work out, probably wise to nibble on some of the older mugs.

I got £25 on Clark @ 50/1 and £25 on Souness @ 80/1 with B365 and £20 on Benitez @ 66/1 with SBET all of which were easy to lay on here at one time or another at fractions of those prices , not huge profits maybe by your standards but I'm happy with my lot as I'm sure many others are the play both bookies and b/f

no chance of wolves paying £2.5 million for poyet
By:
Horangi.
When: 20 Feb 12 21:00
Don't see McDermott coming either, guessing both sides using each other.  Wolves trying to look like they are going after up and comers now and the McDermott's/Poyet's getting better bargaining positions.

Think it will end up being a short term contract for the rest of the season to someone equally desperate as Wolves.

Look at the stakes available to back and lay £2, 5 10. Very little liquidity in the market. Tells you all you need to know.

Desperation connection;

Steve Bruce
Roy Keane
Graham Souness
Gordon Strachan
Dave Jones
Paul Ince
David O'Leary
Peter Reid
George Graham

One of these is NAILED ON.  Others worse off but I think even Wolves have limits.  Maybe wrong about this though.

Concerned with the betting patterns of Lee Clark though, I'm sure he's desperate and cheap and I'm certain Wolves are dumb enough to give it to him.  By all accounts he has been interviewed, possibly twice.  Not sure how many interview rounds Wolves has left though.  This could be a 4 or 5 round process. lol

Can't see them paying up for Poyet or pulling McDermott away from Reading.
