f**k me bryan robson added to the market
Wonder what idiot requested that name... |
By:
if its a choice between bruce and clark then why not go for clark....
relatively fresh and new......give him a chance... |
By:
Moxey is a complete and utter pillock = agreed...
Why would Lee Clark want to go to such a shower when bigger jobs like Sheffield Wednesday and Kidderminster may soon be opening up? |
By:
Why not go for Clark?
Unproven and untested at PL level - and if Wolves don't survive this year, they might not be back for a while. That would be why, imo... |
By:
..ceretainly unproven and untested at prem level jason....
but perhaps brimming with new ideas...... and bruce is more experienced....but not sure his reltively dour type of football is going to necessarily keep wolves up. easy for me to be idealistic i guess cos i dont support them!!!!! |
By:
Bruce has experience of this situation though, doesn't he?
A new approach sounds great, but it must surely be recognised as a bigger gamble. |
By:
he has i think....and it is a gamble i guess...yes....albeit not a hopeless one imo.

Bruce is Mick Mc's best mate....
He would deliver pragmatic 4-5-1 football they type that kept Birmingham up for 4 seasons,Wigan up for the time he was there and Sunderland... Look at his record with bottom 6 sides back to the wall up and at em and its exceptional.... His problems at Birmingham came when in the 4th season in the Prem he signed players like Gronkjaer,Melchiot,Pennant,Dunn and tried to play a more expansive game......plus he lost Eric Black.... The more flair players could not respond to his style of play and Birmingham were relegated as a result....he then got promotion right away really by nabbing Bnedtner,Larsson and Muamba on loan from Arsenal and playing method football... He is McLeish,McCarthy type.... Probably be a sensible move given Wolves are a YO-YO Club having been the luckiest side alive to escape last year and looking very weak this year..... With the inferior quality they have and no window left he would de as well as anyone better than most - and more likely to mould a decent Championship side when the inevitable happens... The team spirit there is NIL and many of the better players want out quite simply because they get barracked every home game if they aren't 3-0 up after 20 mins.....worst followers anywhere...slate their own team and brick all away fans... |

on second thoughts..after reading that....seems there is only one guy for the job..in the short term at least.

Curbs now coming back in.
Horangi been doing the managerial equivalent of a rain dance? |
By:
Well it all ends where it begins. Rumors Curbishley still in the mix.

what an utter laughing stock wolves have made themselves with this fiasco
could have hardly have been mishandled worse |
By:
why mafe?
Wolves have said from the start they were going to speak to a number of candidates and then have second interviews and hopefully appoint before saturday. They are on course to do this. The fact that some can't keep their traps shut and blab to friends in the media setting off lots of rumours isn't their fault. Lets see who they get before we label it a fiasco. |
By:
you don't interview seemingly every manager who's ever managed a league club then make a decision
unless it's curbishley after his umpteenth change of heart whoever gets it now will look and feel like about 10th choice |
By:
Bruce won't be getting a 2nd interview.
By:
mafe there is a lot of misinformation around. I wouldn't believe what you read in the press or the sky exclusives you hear.
By:
yeah i can well believe some of the rumours doing the rounds are wild to say the least but you'd have to think having sacked mccarthy last monday they'd have wanted the new man in charge by yesterday morning at the latest with a full week to prepare for the next game.
By:
What can they possibly need 2 interviews for?
Unlike most other industries, they will already have had - or should have had - a good idea of who they wanted when the job became vacant. |
By:
McDermott now into favourite...

Turning into a classic this one. Some absolute nonsense spouted on this thread.
Didn't you say Bruce wasn't being considered before this got going? By all accounts he was interviewed. Anyways no idea where this is heading. McDermott still getting a lot of interest as Reading haven't reupped his contract or said anything. Its said they actually can't sign him up to a new contract right now though as Reading's ownership is still in transition. So the silence may not indicate his possible exit. Russian billionaire coming in, why would McDermott leave now unless he wasn't wanted (which doesn't appear to be the case)? Still thinking Poyet at this price is worth betting. Wolves have made a concerted effort to distance themselves from Poyet but maybe want to wait until after Brighton plays Hull tomorrow. By all accounts an approach was made and comp number discussed. Trading over 10's seems a little much. |

By:
Interesting the activity on Curbishley and Keane today. What does it all mean?

By:
Reported on local W'Mids radio,Curbishley only wanted a contract till the end of the season.
Didn't want to manage the Wolves if they went into the championship. Thinks he's to good for championship. ![]() What a wan£er. ![]() |

There's rarely a Manager's market like this imo... no obvious favourite after such a long time. Very interesting!
By:
I did say bruce wasn't in the running. He isn't.
By:
Didn't they interview him?
By:
They have spoken to him yes.
By:
Mighty do you have a background in politics? ffs
Why don't you grace us with your inside information and set us clowns straight? |

not sure i can be any clearer than it wont be him

So many bell ends on this thread.
Worcester willy criticising the Wolves board, when they are owned by a man about to be sent to prison via an unfathomable BIH whose majority share holding changes more often than the favourite in a next manager market. Horangi...actually thinks a forumite has added his name to a next manager market. It's been a week since Mick went, hardly a saga when appointing a manager . Still wouldn't rule out Curbishley. |
By:
You said a lot of nonsense being spoken here, I assumed you knew more then just Bruce's chances.
By:
Mighty Whites - to be fair, unless you explain what makes you so sure, you come across a bit silly.
By:
i do yes horangi
By:
To be fair MW has been spot on with manager markets before so i'd give his opinion some value. MW - inbox me if you have the inside knowledge on this one too mate)

I find it strange that Bruce has been favourite for the majority of a week, yet he has no chance whatsoever, and hasn't had any from the start?
He might not get it of course, but I don't buy it. |
By:
backed by mugs putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 for peanuts
By:
Nah sorry, I don't buy that.
You can state that it's a fact as much as you like, but with no other info, it's just a guy on a forum making bullish statements... not a rare thing around here. |
