Glasgow is full of sectarian t0ssers. Look at this forum for the kind of thinking that pervades. Can have decent shops and buses but if the place is full of cnts it's not a place to be. Didn't like it. Was expecting Edinburgh to be the same but it was surprisingly good, definitely a friendlier city and nicer atmoshpere. Heard good things about Aberdeen but never been there, imagine it's bleak in the winter though.

There must be some reason for it. Maybe being the cultural epicentre with the fringe and festival makes them less insular.

Edinburgh has always been more civilised than Glasgow, in fact being in Edinburgh it's easy to forget you are actually in the land of setarian bigots, heedbangers and deep fried everything - dunno why, perhaps one of the unfortunate from the frozen north will enlighten us...

Glasgow is brash the people are dim and try to be friendly but really they are just pests. However if any visited Glasgow for a couple of days they would probably enjoy it. |

pretty narrow minded view imo. assuming you're not fishing. from a tourist's perspective it's easy to see why edinburgh appeals more, but you'd get sick of edinburgh very quickly if you had to live there. plus they talk like utter morons outside the west of scotland. |

stayed in Folkstone for one night to catch ferry over to france for my duty frees (when it was worth doing it), never again, if there a competition for biggest toilets of britain this hellhole would be in the Champions League, a 24 carat cesspit of a town.
