Depends how much you rate him, and the truth behind his transfer funds. I go on trophies won, and how much money there has to be spent, and whether you utilise the funds available. Going on some reports you could build a case that would suggest he is inept and horribly over rated, but if he has utilized his available funds, then he has done a sterling job and deserves the merit. Seems a big if to me. I am happy to take a more real view, alot of people who like attacking football, or are Arsenal fans, or believe the medias opinion of people, will feel threatened by the truth, but the truth is, it is very likely he is a horribly over rated manager.

The players i see wenger bringing through/building has a great future ahead for many years playing good stuff anyother manager at the club would of taken it in a completly different direction.good for the premiership.

not sure. obviously playing pretty football doesn't win trophies but this side is capable of challenging for the league and the cups.Big year for them this year as the pressure is on them to deliver a trophy but I don't think you can call him over rated, surely?

I suggest those who doubt Wenger go and read his biography, by Jacques Rivoire, with comments and opinions from many key characters in his career.
Listen to former and current Arsenal players, for example... Or how about tracking the progress of players who left Arsenal: Hleb, Flamini, Pennant, Bentley, Vieira and a lot more... Most go downhill, even those at or approaching their peak... Wenger is a highly gifted coach who knows how to bring the best out of players. Didn't any of you critics watch last night's match, for example?! And most of his detractors here don't seem to have the remotest clue about the financial constraints under which he's been working these last few years. |
