By:
beautiful Ewok !!
Emmanuel, well atm its more about getting rid of mido, tuncs and then we will bring in the stars |
By:
I wonder whether players like O'Neil will end up leaving this summer.
I know obv Alves, Tuncay are going. |
By:
Good luck :) You need a bit of recruiting to catch up with your neighbours though ;)
35k odd posts to go and counting ;) |
By:
Who do we need, well what position?
Think an extra stirker wouldn't go amiss, King didn't do enough last season to earn a permanent transfer, so WBA can have him. Alves is staying imo, can't see anyone buying him, so we have Alves, Emnes, Franks & Alliadiere to choose from. Weak link in our team, no surprise when we have the weakest forwardline in the whole country last season. |
By:
cheers soggy, and your not wrong, but thatnks for the one post youve added so far, hopefully its not your last ;)
By:
yes ewok, i mean we scored 2 tonight and it was 2 defenders, if alves did stay then we need 1 striker, if he goes then 2 imo
By:
O'Neill was only after a return to Pompery I think, talk off Fulham etc was wide of the mark, and now Pompey have some £££ they don't want to know.
O'Neill & Digard our centre midfield partnership next year, with Josh in the wings. Interestingly GS has said he wants a creative midfielder added to the squad. Talk of a U21 ROI International joining from Galway I think Jay O'Shea. |
By:
We need a forward. Were crying out for a forward.
I'm really looking forward in seeing Emnes linking up with our midfield next season. He really impressed me back end of last season. |
By:
Emnes will tear up the Championship imo. BIG MISTAKE GS made last season not giving him more time on the pitch than 5 mins here and 5 mins there until Newcastle game.
Emnes & Jinky are two players to watch this season without a doubt. Lita is still available on a free, I'm sure GS is waiting to get shot of Mido first before signing him up. |
By:
i dont know what the deal is with o neilm no rhyme intended ;)
cos he said he didnt want to live up here, so i expected him to be going, but hes been in most of the firendlies so maybe not |
By:
yes ewok, we cant sign anyone till we have tuncs and mido gone, but then we should get a couple, but its only 9 days to sheff utd
GS - will look back at last season with regrets towards emnes im sure |
By:
I know it's still 'early days' in terms of transfers but alot of the players i thought would be gone are still here and no rumor of a transfer out the club anytime soon.
I think so far, we've done well to hold on to some of our better players. We may not of signed any eye catching players, but as long as we keep some quality at the club I'll be happy. |
By:
Alot of it was luck though last season, I keep coming back to Liverpool away, 1-0 10 mins to play, got beat 2-1. That was the catalyst of our poor season. Last minute goals here and there!
By:
Yes Gary, It's safe to say we'll have a strong team out next Friday evening.
I just wish we had abit more of a competitive friendly rather than the teams we've played tbh. |
By:
Downing was the only player we had to sell to balance the books, the rest is down to the players. If they hand in a request, we'll let them go. Mido is obvious in his quest to leave, Tuncay has got permission from the club to seek a transfer, but not heard anything from Alves, other than he's working on fitness.
Be interesting to see the side out on Sat v Milwall. |
By:
yes IIW, it would have been nice to to have harder work outs, but i uppose most teams probably play lower opposition
what team then are we looking at to line up against sheff utd ? |
By:
*Fri v Millwall
I think GS has been very shrewd in his friendly choices IIWDI. Confidence building without a doubt is the nameof the game, and to be fair lower league clubs are unlikely to shy away from a tackle, which is wat the Championship will be like. |
