Layed them at 9's in the Euros for a bit

a very good bet that. i layed at 11s before the italy game. i decided we couldn't possibly win it when we played sweden and luckily turned the game around in the groups. and then having to get past spain at some stage!]

I will prob lay them in the world cup, in the world the likes of spain and germany are just a class above, even argentina are better than england IMO.  every tournament the pressure on england is insane, our media look inwards for their analysis IE what each member of the team should do, wereas I find other coutries look outwards IE talk about other teams and players to watch. I know england are proffesionals but with pressure to perform it will not usually work well!

yeah i suppose you have to stand back, imagine you arent english, and ask yourself, would you back us?
By:

When: 18 Mar 13 22:40
mind you its often a good ploy to back us at admittedly poor odds pre tourney, and when we get through the group stage as we do...then the over reaction and hype will see the odds unrealistically slashed

'I know, I mean I wouldnt back England against bloody Hastings at 1.01, must be more value to be had here'

I think Hastings would beat them too  tbf ,that's how poor they are Grin

Smithy - i have been looking at Marinos results against the top 6 teams ,and they take them a fair way sometimes - it took Germany to score just on the stroke of half time (Going on to win 6-0)  i believe they took Spain a fair way too ,aswell as the Dutch - goal just before HT , but then they tire in the second ,so maybe if its still 0-0 after 22' pile in  Wink

whatever team is put out is questioned as to wether or not that is the best team, I mean the key to a team is stability and confidence, when the players question the manager, he questions himself and his team its just not a good foundation. Need a manger with balls to come out and say what he thinks, stick by his guns and then see if hes right keep him, if hes wrong get rid.

conceding on average only around 3.45 goals per game, not too shabby compared to a few years ago

If england win by less than 3 it will feel like a loss

they seem to have a few decent games and then fall apart unexpectedly .

remember the time they almost grabbed a draw from the RoI (and Belgium) , then in the next breath got totally pasted 10-0 by Poland

Are you sure now that guys like Messi are better than English players?

its all about the first goal, their heads tend to drop when conceding, whereas the faroe islands when conceding 1,2, 3 etc dont alter their tactics and remain solid and tricky to break down

MrLay,

If you would be interested in a private wager on England v Argentina at the next World Cup I am quite happy to stake my £550 versus you're £500 draw no bet if you are interested?(and I am happy to negotiate slightly).

Folks,

I have no intention of hijacking this good thread.  If anyone wishes to take on my bet of £550 Argentina v £500 England in an individual match at the next World Cup that would be great. I am prepared to haggle slightly on the price.

That is so long away, but as I said I lay england to cover the draw.

henok-your betting also seems to have sharp swings these days 800 down and then 800 up on the horses.?yes thats right mate a lot of ups and downs. i didn't even know how to bet in play at the start of the season but i spoke to a few pros on here including posters of this thread who very kindly gave me a push in the right direction. now i know a bit more i'm happy to take more risks. its not uncoomon for me to be £500 to 1k down somedays which is hard work but i try and tell myself if i can make 2k a month then its got to be worth doing

good luck

people just posting monthly and weekly figures. Why not post overall figures. Ie whats gone in your account and out. Overall loss or overall profit from the time your account opened.

I have considered that.

i like the thought its a habitual down and out. Raiding childrens savings accounts, stealing from work and border line suicide.

Makes me appreciated the money I do have.

Excellent work Smithy, sounds like your still raking it in. A great full time job and a football trading wizard on here, you'll be able to buy a house/flat outright, sod a deposit, ha! Well done mate. Hope the injury is coming along ok too.

Tough times still hey Coach, your not alone though, i'm struggling at the moment! I had my worst month in Feb since going full time on here in Feb 2012. Not posted my p & l yet but like Jan, it was going so well (steady consistent profits) then i get the urge to stop the trading and just have a big bet to buy some money and this invaribly loses and i then chase and lose again. So i take some time out, come back and trade for another stream of consistent, small, profits but in the back of my mind, i still cant let go of the 'big' money i lost previously and so the cycle repeatsCry! This resulted in a disaster of a Feb.

As i posted previously, my profit for feb 2012 - jan 2013 was just shy of 10k and so when i saw what i lost in feb 2013, i was a bit sick as i'd let a lot of good money and hard work go down the drain! But, i'm trying to keep positive, i'm still in ok shape all things considered, just need to get back to basics and cut out the big bets (relative to my bank) and the chasing and get myself back on track, trading for small amounts, which soon add up, as they did in the previous 12 months and hopefully i'll be ok Happy.

Well done all other winning posters and heads up those that have lost a few quid, theres always another day to make it back!!! Take it on the chin like the investor and bounce back!!!

Its taught me (as if i don't already know!!) gamble and you lose, chase and you lose some more. Trade though and you 'can' win.
Stupid bets, stupid stakes, painful results!!!!

Cheers Pistash, same to u mate (well done last week 2!) and cheers Smithy, i'll keep plugging away and try to keep away from the temptation to stray from small trades to big gambles, ha.

Pleased and envious to hear ur back playing footy, good stuff, hope the last few weeks of ur season go well. I'm still struggling with the achilles, am walking without a limp now but calf/tendon not strong enough to start running yet, never mind playing again so prob a comeback for next season now, fingers crossed !
