leethere in Doha you will be a minority and perhaps the mug leethere's in Doha will have attitudes similar to yours against you. Perhaps that will change your way of thinking

Some people on here are more bothered about the 'rights' of gay people wanting to adopt than the welfare of the child

sums up this ridiculous pc society imo

Crack addicts having kids and all straight relationships being perfect. I'm not sure where you've got that from. I doubt there's anybody on the planet who believes either point, especially the second one, so seems a little strange to counter my argument with such nonsense.

There have been a couple or arguments about single parents. I don't believe a singleton should be allowed to adopt. If a child is born in a relationship and one member dies or there's a separation then the child should continue to be in that parent's care. These are two very different things. Taking a child away is very different to someone being given a child.

I think the child's development is key and, in my view, there's more risk of an unstable upbringing being raised by two **sexuals than by a normal heterosexual partnership.

absolutly spot on that!!!

Charles

I am a well travelled individual and when i go to thse countries I respect the views and attitudes of the people who live there

Can the same be said for people who visit this country

We all know the answer to that

How can I have a blinkered view?

My mind is open. Your view is closed.

So, if a group of professional experts say that a couple are ok to adopt you would rather the kid stayed in care then had a loving family?

Some people on this thread aren't so ridiculously in fear of people different to themselves that they automatically make negative assumptions about people different to themselves and assume that because they are gay they cannot bring a child up properly.

Yet look around you, Britain is full of chav**m walking around brought up by 16 yr old girls and 18 year old boys - this is so ideallic! LOL

that you put 'rights' in inverted commas says quite a lot imo!

i dont think that is the issue, its more if the parents have found to be fit and proper, what is your problem with this?

the obvious answer is of course, they are gay and this makes me scared but i dont know why.

Goes to show the stereotype of only racist, sexist, ignorant unemployed pratts gamble is partly true.

Thankfully a few other enlightened people here.

And again...he accuses others of stereotyping gays and then stereotypes those that disagree with him

What a hypocritical scoundrel!

Mr Hill I posted to Templeton with a completely valid point and got no response (mainly because he will be aware that there IS no response that is acceptable)

Anyway, as I said earlier, there is no point trying to educate those with such deep rooted prejudices/fears of other types of people. Travel might help you, but that would involve leaving your computer screen.

We did have an empire you know and with that came a responsibility. I don't believe in the separation and lack of integration of minority communities but they are well in their right to do so.

leethere that is utterly ridiculous - you respect the values of the coutries you visit - great well done, are you suggesting SERIOUSLY that all people that come to our country don't respect it YET ALL british people respect countries when they go abroad - have you SEEN British football fans????

ffs charles, i have never said a **sexual couple would not love or care for a child like any other couple, but it IS unfair on the child, i dont know what kind of school you went to, but it is fact that children are cruel, and scar very very easily, you need to think about these things, the human element, not just the selfish politically correct views of the middle/ upper classes........

i hope i am not included in that, as i have not made one derogatory comment - but my posts in answer to your views have been continuously ignored, which tells me you don't have much of an answer for them.

----------------------

we had a down syndrome kid in our primary, and his life was utter hell tbh. kids dont draw distinctions like that, it is the simple fact of being 'different' - they are too young to understand the concepts of sexuality and disability.

the point is your supposed only reason is about the flak the kids might get, i am saying they will get this for numerous things, like disability, race, weight, even jobs of parents ffs (i know this to be true - my dad was a fishmonger!).

should every parent with a flaw that kids might take the **** out of, be stopped from having children? no? so why just gay couples?

when you look at it like this, it suggest more that you just dont like the idea of gay people with kids.
By:
Charles1980

Mr Hill so your argument is kids "MIGHT" be bullied at school so we must not allow gay people to bring up kids. I see.
By:
HARRY22
When: 10 Nov 09 12:08
yes mr hill....we know the chavs bring up kids who are little shi%%...that cant be stopped...what can be stopped is kids being victims of the chav bully tactics and mental scarring...it can be stopped by gay couples not being selfish

There is a post above where i am directly countering one of your points from earlier. Why is it being studiously ignored?
By:
Charles1980
When: 10 Nov 09 12:13
I'm afraid that may well be true, but kids will be bullied for any number of reasons and it is up to our society to remove prejudice and the only way to do that is to tackle it head on, NOT make rules for one section of society because "it might cause problems"

Mixed race couples 10 years ago might have caused bullying in schools and look how far that has come.

Just remember, people stick to their own kind as it's comfortable and they have a fear of the unknown. We are all human.
By:

When: 10 Nov 09 12:17
again the mixed race thing is regurgitated, what is wrong with you people, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT RACE, racism is vile, **phobia is vile, i happen to believe a child has more chance of being a stable , well rounded individual being bought up in a conventional family, rather than a **sexual one.... that is my view, i appreciate your view, i do not call you any names.

Again you have categorized everyone who disagrees with your opinion into one convenient pigeon hole rather than perhaps thinking that they are probably form a variety of backgrounds and with varying outlooks.

Now tell me who the bigot is?

Mixed race was brought up as an example of a couple that has had to encounter negative opinions from people and who have since shown that those negative opinions are misplaced. HTH.
