Not been able to get in the forum once again… only been watching on Quest in the afternoon, enjoyed what I’ve seen… my stable has been depleted somewhat, Vernstra left running, added de Vreede before his win last night. No fancy prices left on Priscilla, I would of had a few quid on if there was…

Cheering on Nick v the red hand Menzies v Warren Menzies -1.5 h'cap @ 5/4 Sportsbook Good luck everyone |

P.S. These jobbers like Warburton who win the bull up and throw first will happily hold throw leg on leg in 18 darts and chuck in the occasional 15, then throw first deciding leg. WDF should change this to sudden death leg bull up to eliminate that thought process, or at the very least bring back deciding set to be won by 2 clear legs. Even if only from 1/4's on as the dead wood gets swept away.

The two young guns put in their place last night, remind me a bit of Willie Borland and Bradley Brooks, too uch showboating and when the chips are down they don't have an answer... having said that I look forward to following their careers going forward... De Vreede went out with a whimper, I'm left with Veenstra in the outrights and Veenstra and Raman in my mega accas... good punting weekend this...

Darts and booze just as I was saying Menzies is to nice a guy to win this worries about his opponents feelings to much just smash them

Starkey are you receiving over? Calling all cars! Calling all cars!
Menzies to smash Hurrell tomorrow. Meanwhile...Great darts from Aileen...oh Mikuru...it wasn't to be. My Outright ticket is in the bin. My good thing turned out to be one of the pack. With it a big slice of my tourny profits bit the dust. Both traded 5/1 minimum in running too. Best of 5 sets in ladies 1/4's and those holding 8/1 Beau tickets are feeling good. Not forgetting Rhian 50's |

I've backed Priscilla @ 22/1 for a bit of interest...

Queen of the desert. Playing better with each match. Could be another year where a big outsider wins the ladies title.

What we learnt in the last 16:
McEwan looked online and read the pisstakers comparing WDF standard with PDC elite and quite rightly replied "Get up on this stage and show us what you can do." Scott Marsh got beat in similar fashion to The Nuke and you could clone their reactions. Both stunned, miffed, baffled. You got beat lads suck it up. |

Last 16 into 1/4 finals:
Duff 3-1 Fullwell: Couldn't get Wi-fi on my gadget, nodded off and missed match. Ihasz 1-2 Beau Beau seemed to be cruising to victory then Ihasz levelled 1-1 set all including a monster 164 check out, the highest in the ladies world championships ever. A great match with top arrers from both with Beau showing her class to win. McEwan 3-2 Warburton: McEwan looked on his way out. Under performing and under pressure and it showed. I thought he had nothing left, then Warburton stopped playing. Jim turned it around and romped to victory. Hurrell 3-1 Vreede: The only good thing about this match for me was when it ended. Vreede missed doubles galore and Hurrell is still to impress me. He plays like the world is still on his shoulders and he's not someone I'd be rushing to back any time soon. |

Menzies 3-0 Warren:
Warren showed why he got hammered in the grand slam. Plenty of 180's to legs ratio but couldn't buy a double. Menzies needs a right good slap down from the missus to get his game head on and not let up until the winning double goes in. Did more than enough to win after Warren missed so many darts at doubles. de Graff 2-1 Mikuru: Close first set with my Outright banker Mikuru coming good to take it 3-2 and into 1/9 to win the match, with Aileen 5/1. Mikuru returned from the interval with the throw going from hot to cold to colder as Aileen hit big scores and checked out. 1-1 set all. Mikuru still 4/7 fav. Onto deciding set and more disappointment from Mikuru. Aileen had the throw, played well as Mikuru drifted to 5/1. She had a bad day, with Aileen the deserved winner. Wasn't long before my banker was out and my bank manager on the blower. |

I have youtube footage on the tv!!!
But still no Wi-fi on my gadget? Tricole 3-1 Hine: Steve started well and took the opening set. He then provided some odd tv moments as he got lost in what he was there to do. Messing up and leaving wrong finishes but the worst one was opting to not go for the bull with Tricole on 120. This summed up his lost focus as Tricole nailed Shanghai. Perhaps too much vodka soaked into one of Steve's muffins as he lost his way. Tricole soon powered to victory with some lovely finishing. Baetens 3-0 Marsh: What a performance from Baetens. Marsh being a Kent, a right one at times, must have looked out across the English Channel with venim and brought that to the stage as he played his Belgian opponent. Baetens from 1st dart to last didn't change his demeanor. 100% focus all through the match as Marsh tried all sorts to no avail. A great win from a real live contender. |

Two 1/4 finalists from previous day:
Raman 3-0 Cole: Raman gave Cole a darting lesson. I saw an interview where he said he couldn't believe he wasn't favourite for the match. I agreed and came out on top this time. The Nuke 0-3 Veenstra: Luke played well in parts but as the match went on I was more interested in his body language. Veenstra ran riot winning 8 legs or so on the trot to win the match with a new highest winning average at The Lakeside 104.91. You watch him when the camera zooms in on him sat in the crowd. Never blinks and possibly ate one of Hine's muffin specials. |
|
By:
Men's remaining 8 players:
5 pdc tour card holders started and 2 remain: Menzies and Raman. Those left who also play on the pdc challenge tour: McEwan and Tricole. Two Europeans: Veenstra and Baetens. This leaves two: The England captain Hurrell Northern Ireland red hand of Duff |
