Even if he's world no1 he could have mvg Lewis ando wade bunting huybrechs. Half they lot and put them on his half of tourneys to get to finals. It's gonna be scary for everyone. Like you say there shared out now because of that so to win 1 a year will be hard. Ando ando is now even harder plus mvg it's gonna be harder and tsylor can't get any better with age now

I think we're just going to see an era where that form player at that time wins, it will be hard for anyone to utterly dominate. There's too many players capable of devastating spells of 100+ averages over a long format now for someone to dominate.

Taylor will struggle to win another world's male. Can't have more than 3 years left if that has well past 50 .super human but not forever

Only won 3 out of last 8. Basically while he is still great the fields are now much more competitive and people ain't as scared as a decade ago

Once the invisible dart man starts finding the treble 20 with the extra dart chaser and scotty dog learns to teach his invisible dog to put of opponents. Taylors gonna have no chance

That and he is in decline. If he was 40 now I have no doubt he'd still be the best around.
Lots of potential winners next year. MVG favourite but loads of young pretenders. Don't forget Kim was holding his throw for a set away from knocking Taylor out in R3, and he could well have taken some stopping. |

It will be interesting if anyone can challenge Taylor at The Matchplay though. He still owns it there.

Its because he has less peaks and troughs than the rest so in a long leg format he is virtually unplayable to 95%

Too knicker-gripping for me to post during the event itself. Well done to Gary on holding it together in the face of a huge crisis, but I'm sure Phil will consider that was a title almost given away with some missed doubles at big moments of opportunity, and the surely inevitable bounce-out the fates handed out to him on that D8. A terrific match, with periods of quite stellar play. |

Yes I know. Like take tonight. Anderson still probably loses if it's leg format. He lost what like 11 of 13 legs in the middle of the match. You do that in legs format and you've lost.

The set format favours the players who go on devastating purple patches, but there's no doubt until we see otherwise Taylor is still king at long legs format.

It clearly doesn't. Look at Taylor's record at the Matchplay and to a lesser extent Grand Slam of Darts.

As happyhibee says, the long leg formats rewards players who rarely throw a bad leg. Taylor has less troughs than anyone else, so although other's purple patches now seem better than him, his strong steady style sees him as virtually unbeatable over long legs formats so far.

I agree the longer the format suits taylor but if your looking at past stats theyl meet nothing now. The man ain't winning as much now he's 50 odd the young guns are taking him on as well as Lewis ando. Can't keep explaining this. Can't keep the same consistency anymore.
Was awesome in grand slam even in short format but it's not there all the time anymore |
