Crowds Motorbikes all part of the Race ,Accidents happen ,not really sure the GC result should be changed Plain

Don't talk ridiculous for a motorbike to stop in middle of road in front of the race leaders with just over 1km to go is outrageous, and is most certainly not part of the race! They should be far enough in front of the riders not to impede them, and should not be stopping under any circumstances, can only presume the idiot stalled it or something!!

Accident like this has been lying in wait for years.
That aint bike racing
Time /Differences should be taken @ time of incident

Ha ha absolutely no chance of Froome getting a penalty are you joking???
No yellow jersey presntation and rightly so. The best 3 riders where taken down through no fault of their own, totally no question of that.

I think the other riders would  be embarrassed to be in front of Froome after that. Sense will prevail.

Apparently someone pushed Froome off his bike and stole it.

Froome should get a penalty. He didnt have a bike during the whole race. Its Ok to run if you bring the bike. But dont think it will happen.

The swede what the hell are you talking about he ran for 25 yards maximum it hardly gave him an advantage and from some reports on twitter his bike was indeed stolen while he lay on the floor! Go and talk nonsense somewhere else.

Porte looked like he was about to drop Froome
By:

When: 14 Jul 16 16:43
The bike he threw away was the one from the mavik neutral mechanic car, so go and get your facts right! there are still no pictures of the immediate aftermath of the original incident after the moment they crashed.
By:

When: 14 Jul 16 16:45
Nugget at the moment of the crash Froome was about 20cm from Portes rear wheel with about the same distance behind Froome to Mollema, no chance he was about to get dropped.

The organisers can't pretend what just happened didn't happen. I thought pouring tacks on the road was bizarre but this is a whole different level of craziness.

Should be a penalty for running without his bike, it's in the rules.

There has been plenty of races where fans interfere with the riders and they don't neutralize the result.

why dont you wait for some facts before you start calling people idiots...impression i got was motorbike was forced to slow by crowds in front of him...crowds were out of control at that point, giving the riders about a yard and a half of middle of the road

It would have been a PR disaster if the organisers hadn't acted. The world is watching and they would have switched off in droves.

Hyperthetical ,But Lunatic in Crowd takes Froome out during a stage what happens then ? Where do we draw the line ,Bike has had to break sharply they all ran in to the back of it Riders have hit cars etc during stages ,its all part of the race imo ..
By:

If anything Hipp far from the tour now being virtually over it had thrown others a life line ,Froome would still win he is in a class of his own Cool As I said the 13 secs last week may have well be 13 minutes  destroyed them ..
By:

When: 14 Jul 16 17:18
fair decision, but raising the question where to draw the line is also right.

Still to see any forward pics/video of the incident

Have read a spectator fell in front of the moto and it had to stop
Don't know if 'fell' is = too close/tripped/pushed/being stupid

Sticking with the original result today would have offered an open licence for the lunatics to take over the assylum
It aint rocket science to solve just amazed more of these incidents havent happened in the past but no surprise the powers that be take feck all action to prevent/minimise this type of incident
