Sagan would certainly like to get in the break and has already been attacking today. The question is why anyone else in the break would want to work with him. I do think some of the more versatile sprinters like Kristoff, Matthews and Degenkolb need to see stages like today's as an opportunity because they are not competitive with the pure sprinters on stages like tomorrow's

Good break!

Break have this unless someone other than Katusha engages at the front of the peleton. There was talk of echelons yesterday but the wind doesn't look strong yet. Have to fancy Cummings again if the break stays away.
There'll be a nice fine for Cav in the morning after that gesture to the camera bike ![]() |

Cummings and EBH not competing the IM sprint against Sagan to help Cav

Nicely played by Orica. Three guys there, the engine to do the work, the attacker to make Sagan chase and the sprinter to finish it off
By:
still a great race from Sagan today, getting the best possible for Green, there was almost no chance to win in the end

Masterclass from Orica Bike Exchange on stage 10.
Thoroughly enjoyed the racing so far, best TdF to this point in recent memory for me. |
By:
Wind is awful today! Expecting echelons! Should be a bit more than a sprint stage.

Kristoff at 18 to 20 on here. That will do for me today

Froome must be **** scared of Quintana

Great move by Sagan 12k out
By:
Sagan is a real champ, Froome clever enough to take any chance he gets
By:
Yeah, Froome gained another 12secs by being quick to spot and follow Sagan
By:
Sagan got a win because Froome decided to ride

*11.4 k out
By:
Sagan is so versatile in his tactics, he can win any way he decides because of his strength
By:
Incredible from Sagan especially after yesterday's effort. At one point he saw Kristoff close to bridging and just hammered it again
By:
"Sagan was just motoring....that was full gas" - Geraint Thomas (Sky) as he got across to stay with Sagan.
By:
Froome almost beat Sagan in the sprint
By:
He could probably win the green jersey if he focused on it or Paris-Roubaix even
By:
With the green jersey race over
will Cavendish leave to prepare for the Olympics? |
By:
Well done to Polish rider Maciej BODNAR of Tinkoff to go for it. Peter offered him the victory but they were not sure how close the group was behind them.

SAGAN's 7th TdF win

Sagan is on another level right now. No one can touch him.
Well, except for Matthews yesterday. |

It's Froome with Yates@28sec, Martin @31sec, Quintana@35.

Bad weather could see tomorrows stage to Mont Ventoux shortened. Bad news for Quintana.
By:
I would say that is good news for Quintana?? he didn't look all that comfortable in the Pyrennees to me, and with Froome already having experience of and knowing how to win up Ventoux, i'd have been expecting Froome to put some decent time in to him tomorrow. If it is shortened there will almost certainly be very small time gaps in the gc riders.
Though it could leave Froome much fresher and more energy to hammer the TT on friday, and so good chance to put decent time in to Quintana there. |

What an amazing stage today
Green beats Yellow |

Froome wasn't able to put Quintana into difficulty in the Pyrenees despite being the main aggressor from what I saw. Regarding Ventoux, Froome does seem to go better than Quintana on stages that have one
big climb at the end whereas Quintana seems to do better on multi climb stages. Looking forward to the rematch after they finished 1-2 on the Ventoux stage (15) in 2013. It was only Quintana's 2nd year on the world tour and his second grand tour(1st TdF) but it was definitely the stage where he announced himself as a future grand tour winner. Last year on stage 2 Quintana lost 1:28 to Froome on a windy flat day. Quinatana ended up losing the Tour to Froome by 1:12. So I guess Movistar might count themselves lucky after only losing 15 seconds today and would be reasonably content with being 35 seconds down on Froome in the general classification. However, the old dog has learned some new tricks and I wonder if Movistar might start to worry that the 2016 Froome is a far superior model to the 2015 Froome. |

Staggering video of the Ventoux today (Facebook needed?)
https://www.facebook.com/wielrennen.blog.nl/videos/1770261473220374/ No wonder it's been shortened |

So they taking out the toughest 6 km climb today?
By:
Original Finnish- 1912m altitude, 15.7km at 8.8% (final two km's at 9.2% and 9.5%)
New Finnish- 1435m altitude, 10km at 9.0% (final two km's at 7.5% and 7.5%) |
By:
With strong crosswinds expected for most of the stage the peleton could be blown to pieces before the start of the climb.

crazy finish

Unbelievable Scenes ,Nairo Cracked the Tour looked all over bar the Shouting ,then we go to Pics of Chris actually running up the Mountain

Froome dq'd?
By:
F-in disgrace that is, was bound to happen sooner or later with these stupid crowds and useless motorbike riders!
They surely have to neutralise that last 2km for the gc riders?? Froome, Porte and Mollema were showing who was strongest there, no doubt about that, and as i thought Quintana is struggling at the moment. |

Chris matched at 1.16 in outright market..
Mollema Cracking Ride ![]() |

not sure if the crowd or the bike was causing the crash, but booing Froome was a disgrace
