Well lets face it, bowlers rested overnight, new ball, its laid out on a plate now for the drawn series (as if it hadn't already with the woakes injury).

If the umpires had offered to come back out but due to bad light no new ball or spin only with new ball would the indians have come out? Not a chance.....

General consensus is that it is England who have benefited by the weather closing in. The pair at the wicket were really struggling with the Indian bowlers suddenly rejuvenated. I still think England would have won tonight but it may have got very hairy.

Of course India would not have wanted to stay out there if they could only bowl spinners, that would have basically handed the match to England.
Pope refused to do the same the other night as the light faded and he was quite right to do so.

No I think the break favours England. India were in the zone and the batsmen were under pressure. They can sleep tonight and think it over it is only 30 runs.

I do hope it is is exciting and a couple more wickets fall. Be great if Woakes gets the winning run

I'm not sure why Bethell has been fast tracked in to the test side.  His stats are hardly worthy of a call up.
Just over 1000 runs in 24 First Class matches, and 12 wickets at 70 apiece, and he's touted as an all rounder ??

He's only played ONE first Class match for Warwickshire this season before this one, scoring 32 runs and taking two wickets, has he been injured ?

Looked like a fish out of water this week.

Yep a little surprised at the market favouring England to such a degree , thought they were beat when play called off . Break will help both teams , much will depend on how the new ball performs .

Just caught up with the days play, obviously England were dominating at one stage but surprised to see they've been backed @ 1.01

Guessing a bit Kings but probably when 301/3 just after Brook had hit two successive balls for 4 and Brook and Root going great guns , only other time i'd imagine was 332-4 , obviously they're probably playing with 10 batsmen or then again maybe not if he's required.

Yep J gif a big lay in at 1.02 hoping for a trade on wickets. Got  3 but needed 1 more for a killing.

I think there may be another momentum change in the Morning. Can’t call it though

Bethell has been fast tracked because he is an incredible talent. It is not his fault he was selected here with one first class match to his credit this summer. It is another management fault . They have continued with Pope who I believe may have a second innings average either in the teens or early twenties. I was not against that call personally but Bethel should be plying his trade learning and gaining experience. His dismissal this innings showed a lack of experience in a FIVE DAY TEST MATCH.

Basher is another who should not be playing for England right now but he has been identified as having the right attitude and physical characteristics and I support the decision because the other spinners are not really international class. We saw Dawson in the last Test wasting his 8 year opportunity. He had rough to work with against left handers but insisted in bowling straight and not going for runs, what a plank! He will never play for England again. He blew England’s chances of winning that match.

Shane Warne got it right about certain spin bowlers
He would say they haven't played 50 tests
They have played the same test 50 times
i.e same pace, same trajectory & same line all the time

If you have tickets for today’s play please arrive early.

We are expecting the gates to be very busy so please ensure that you have your tickets downloaded and bags ready to be searched.

If you do not have a ticket please do not come to the ground, there are no tickets available to buy.

Looks like chaos, wonder if they will delay the start of play to let the hordes in

There is a bit of rain around, but the game should be finished before it hits
Yes, people often think a draw is the same as a tie

It would be nice if Woakes gets to be part of the chase (not for the nerves of many!), as I can't see him ever playing for England again

Smith must lead the way. Not a morning for shrinking violets, England must be up for this.

Nervous nudges not the way to play, end up with a run out.

Come on England!

Taking liquidity out of the equation (which makes this entirely hypothetical) - could have been greened out for £40k profit this morning Crazy

Why did the umps appeal that and not India who've no appeals left? What is the rationale behind the umps looking at that?
