Maybe - instinctively/historically - the draw has felt a touch long for much of this innings but it's so much more difficult to pull that trigger in today's age...

I can understand the slow play in this heat . Somebody in authority needs to take a view. Too much whinging by commentators and TV should take some of the blame. they have schedules. How about 30 overs before lunch then 30 overs before tea then 30 overs before close? bet your bottom dollar TV would say NO!

Why on earth would they do that!
So stupid |

brainless wicket

Fabulous run out by Stokes. The influence of being on 98 or 99. How dumb can you get.
By:
Stokes is one of those amazing players that just makes stuff happen
Brainless stuff tbf |
By:
As an England fan - love that.
Tough for Pant - especially given he was doing it for KL - but when the bowlers look helpless...nothing better than a direct hit from nowhere! |
By:
Rahul should have hit that first ball for 4
By:
Can't remember the last consequential runout
By:
You'll always get brainless stuff like that until players come to terms with the fact the 100 is only one run more than 99 , stupidity at its finest on lunch.
It was a good throw but Pant looked to be trotting home and he was only out by a foot , in IPL that would have been a dive. |
By:
Draw price unaffected by that dismissal for me as the scoring rate will drop a tad after lunch to compensate you'd imagine.

The only thing I would say is that neither batsmen were troubled by Archers pace. Reddy is a very good batsman but if he does not score runs here he might be replaced by Kuldeep for Old Trafford. Archer and the ball they pick will be crucial for England.
No reason why India should not be batting tomorrow approaching lunch. India should be looking to get a lead in excess of 150 but that does not make them safe! |

Great interview on TMS with Mishal Husain

India still a long way behind
By:
I always expect from Jadeja , one of my top fav handful of players
By:
must agree, that pant wicket has really strengthened the draw here
By:
oh dear
New ball also due soon! |
By:
India still a long way behind but this is still a batting wicket. If India do not get a lead they are in big trouble as I do believe it will spin tomorrow or Monday
By:
rahuls 100 could well cost india the series
By:
Having said that enough batting for India despite that!
By:
Batting still looks really easy
By:
Plenty of runs left in this line up but understandably draw drifts a full point after that big wicket , market expecting England to bat around 5pm
By:
Sudden swing again in this unpredictable match.
By:
Running between the wickets not looking easy!
By:
Yes really annoyed,
Was about to start my England buy back and decided to wait until after lunch as they were in such control. Missed out on 4.6 |
By:
what are india doing
By:
Dislocated
By:
No shocks in that session at 2.7 an over , all the Pant dismissal did was ensure the slow run rate continued resulting in the draw going fav.
By:
Kept the faith with the draw from the outset and done nothing with it but time to at least go green now , couldn't stand losing money from this position and it can be a funny old game.
Good luck all ![]() |

Yeh I've greened up now on match odds
Just feels like things are starting to happen |

Not far off your required runs target now Jerry

And they made such a fuss about getting equal prize money Jerry, what a farce.
By:
They should get half at most, and that's being generous
By:
Shame about that. Jedeja deserved his place in history
By:
England do not want to bat tonight
