I do think England are a little short here

Been more than the normal amount of help for spinners today. Does anybody think this will continue tomorrow and be progressive or will the surface harden up a little under the sun?

Kumar is wrong in his analysis. Brook can get his front leg towards the pitch of the ball and it may well be outside the line of off stump if it hits the pad.

What happened to bazball..more like tavare ball now

£160 for 83 overs, disgraceful

2.8 an over for evening session , i'll stick with my theory for now and say they'll bat until Saturday lunch if they're able to make it a 2 way result with as much urgency as it takes to prevent getting out.

Not sure where we stand here. Doubts about the draw linger. Will it spin after 3/4 days of sun? Can England extract movement with the new ball. It matey be hit and dry when they bowl.
Depending on how many England get and then bowl with the new ball I would wager, well I have wagered India will get a first innings lead and may well bat until late Saturday if not longer. That helps. Don’t do anything and let the game to develop. Stay on the draw and oppose England for now. Might top up on India with a view to laying the draw on Saturday or back England to clear the red Market has been quite tight supporting England and not the team batting first. I still contend that could be a mistake although I do think England have done well and got scores on the board. |

Today was test cricket as it used to be played, England in a strong position as a result, just shows there is more to their game than bazball.
A good toss to win i think. Interesting that Gill says that India would have bowled anyway if he had won the toss, that would surely have been an error as the pitch looks sure to be tricky for batting on last. I see that good old Chris Tavare gets a mention above, it always had me scratching my head as to why he batted so slowly for England and got the tortoise nickname. He was a very good stroke maker when playing for Kent and was excellent in one day games, scoring 14 centuries as well as numerous 50s. A shame that he didn't play his natural game in internationals. |

Stoke won't bowl with that groin injury, could be out for the rest of the summer, and that really messes with Eng's bowling
Woakes & Carse will be bowled into the ground as Jofra will be used lightly |

tavare was bairstow like, compared to david steele

Bloody Bumrah is ruing this for me.
small top up on India at 4.1 last night with a view to laying the draw tomorrow. The ball is new and the top up warranted. This is carnage. The end is open. I just hope India bat and bat and bat not |

Is Harrogate a nice place for a weekend break…Friday /Saturday? Where to stay, what to do? Do you have a good food offering? I don’t like plastic menu pub food. I was also thinking Rippon or Ironbridge |

When will Cricket change their attitude about time? Why on earth can't they have 90 overs per day? It is light enough until 8pm at least. If the players and Umpires knew that they would have to complete 90 overs before going to the bar they would get on with the game.
