australia bowled in their innings like 14 year old schoolboys it was embarrasing for test cricket, and crawley innings never seen such luck, he is really a walking wicket, yet isha thinks hes a great

Is everyone happy with the way Wood bowls? I certainly am not. The three wickets he took today were all as a result of the batsmen fearing getting hit. That is not cricket for me thank you, and I laid Australia.

He's fast brigust, nobody wants to get hit at that speed esp on the grill, Broad had his nose broke and looked like he'd been hit by Mike Tyson
Phillip Hughes (rip) was hit what seemed like a pretty tame delivery by their standards and died. Wood is ridiculous pace and if there's bounce he's going to be dangerous I do think batsman aren't great at ducking and weaving though, that skill seems to have gone out the game |

In most sports today head injuries are avoided and monitored. Non accidental head injuries are punished.
Here we have a cricketer using a cricket ball as a weapon to terrorise and injure players while tens of thousands of English fans bay for blood. This is not accidental. As the graphs constantly show they know where the ball will arrive. Travis Head was hit twice in this test and received concussion treatment. Anyone who saw his dismissal will see the terror in his face when he was out. This is not cricket. Bowling short is acceptable providing there is no deliberate intent to injure and England started it when they bowled 92% of their deliveries short on one day in the second test. This is going back to the dark ages. Today I feel ashamed to be an England cricket fan. |

Australia seem bowlers have been bouncing the ball at England batsmen for years. Mitchell Johnson pitched many short balls. Wood has extreme pace, once there is bounce in the pitch, it will kick up if he goes short, he isn’t 6ft 5 so surely can’t be as brutal as the West Indies bowlers of the past.

As for travis Head, he is known to not like the short ball. Why would u pitch it any other way. This is competitive sport at the end of the day, u expose your opponent weaknesses

Bouncing the ball has been a part of cricket for as long as I can remember but even that has more recently been monitored closely. This is different. This is a bowler using the cricket ball as a weapon to hurt people. I don't expect the baying mob to recognise that until someone is seriously injured but that is what it is.

England's biggest problem is over rate. Ridiculously slow. I will be surprised if there is an over bowled today.

professional cricketers just like motorsports competitors, boxers, MMA competitors accept a certain risk in the sport...a risk that statistically is minuscule these days with protective equipment...
they are not forced to play... if and when the rules change then so be it ...until then it's professional hard nose sport...and England (Wood or anyone else) are no more attempting to injure someone than any other side that bowls short stuff at 85mph plus... |

When England played 90+% short balls in the second test that was supposed to be 'not cricket' well this is 'not cricket' in my view. I think England are good enough to win without these tactics but perhaps you don't. That says a lot. |

Tomorrow's forecast looks unrecognisably better, on the WeatherRadar app, to how it looked last night. Plenty of gaps as showers move through.
Not only that but the radar today looks free of rain at Old Trafford from around 1pm til gone 3pm. Could all change but I'm far more encouraged than I was last night... |

Tend to just trade any swings I see, rather than base it much on the actual weather but I've gone nowhere fast this time.
Been too in-and-out of focus and consistently got things wrong. Happy to blame my young family rather than myself  |
