What’s the quickest double century in test match history please?
Crawley could do it in less balls than runs today? |
By:
Stokes v South Africa?
Used to be Nathan Astle, I believe. |

At the moment it looks like there's weather around tomorrow morning, so there may only be 3.5 sessions left: 2 tomorrow and 1.5 on Sunday. The feeling might be to insert tonight since it took 3.5 sessions to bowl Aus out 1st innings. Either way England will need to bowl Aus out in 2 sessions I think.

Awesome.

Pity the weather is going to fook us let's be honest
Global heating you know |
By:
That’s a blow.
Well played Zak |
By:
only declare when overheads are decent...not tonight imo...
By:
cheap no pressure runs currently as well...if you fall in a heap doesn't matter too much...
By:
sunday far from set this far out as well...met office only has light showers...
By:
need to do nothing silly and get a lead of at least 100 losing no more wickets before really going for it
By:
scuttlesville...
not sure that'll worry Eng too much |
By:
Yeah take your point. Much like the declaration in the first test :)
By:
going for it as in scoring quickly and building a big lead
By:
slightly bizarre that Brooks is playing as conservatively as he has all career...
By:
I think they’re playing to go for it in the morning session tomorrow
By:
which will be tougher against fresher bowlers and currently anticipated skies you'd have thought...
By:
great inngs by crawley, but on tms , " crowleys innings just shows that the really great players turn up on the biggest occassion" according isha gusho

Was trying to agree with your point above about cheap runs being on offer tonight Brent. England haven't taken advantage though, not sure why they felt the need to go into their shells.
By:
does feel a bit odd Fo'B...

By:
England day.
Aussies at 10/1 is a bit short. Can’t see how England can **** it up from this position |
By:
The market agrees, draw shortened markedly in that last hour. Strange one with Aussie bowlers on their knees.
By:
Replying to Brentford
By:
England get a 130-150 lead, they will hope to bowl the Aussies in the gloomy parts of play in the 2.5 days for a small total imo. The pitch surely will become bowling friendly over the weekend
By:
No chance Aussies win from here they'll be time wasting, crawling over the boundary rope with cramp etc
A draw suits them nicely, urn retained job done We have to go nuts until lunch and then fire the bowlers up like never before It's going to be interesting that's for sure, this series has been very interesting |
By:
Eng 1.98
Aus 11.5 Drw 2.40 |
By:
Uneven bounce could be good for England.
By:
Looks decent for bowling now so aye get 150 tomorrow and they'll be in defence first mode anyway
By:
Well if mi**** and nearly hitting your own stumps five times is anything but lucky I'll eat my magnificent hat.
By:
even more frustrating that they played some of their most cautious cricket of the series (or indeed 15 months) in the last 40 mins yesterday...
looks as though will get the anticipated slightly more helpful overheads...could have declared a 100 ahead and had Oz under real pressure this morning.. |
By:
amazing info on tms, bet most didnt know this, a certain test match ( didnt get the sides ) sun was dimming last man came in to bat to save the game , during the over said he wanted to go to the toilet, stayed there for a while then came back to bat, meanwhile it was to dark dark to continue , , Drawn match
By:
There are still possibilities of showers today in the afternoon, 66% ( BBC Website) and 70-80% tomorrow so it's still on the cards that the weather could save the Aussies.

Not a single drop of rain interrupted yet,Goodluck draw backers

Another 40 runs and then declare
2 sessions under cloud today and the ball is swinging ![]() |
By:
Mark Wood
![]() |
By:
Deceleration incoming surely. Afternoon to get some pressure of them
By:
Hopefully an acceleration ;)
By:
Even Wood's not swinging, officially confused.
Do they have a different forecast? |
By:
They've gone at a shade under 4.2 since Crawley departed 37 overs ago.
Obviously, faster than any other side attempts to go but never what I would have guessed would happen. |
By:
If they were planning on declaring at lunch, they should be swinging.
If they're not, why not? We're already losing slow over-rate overs and we'll add the ten minutes changeover to it. I have complete faith, but I can't fathom it out. |
By:
Possibly want a 250 lead
Id declare at lunch personally |
