Small green on draw for a slap up dinner at Spoons, medium green on Aus for an obscenely big Hawksmoor Chateaubriand, large green on Eng and it’s dinner in L'Ambroisie in Paris…

My word I love test match cricket

It's brightening up a bit whispering, but you have your wish for cloud cover and a damp atmosphere.

I would rather be in England's position here but wouldn't be lumping evens in a hurry.

A drop of rain or merely an over or two without a wicket and a drift to juicier prices will be on.

Great opening Test to the series, however it plays out.

Well done Esmith

I long for the days of a ribeye and a shiraz.

Been feeding Greg's beef pasty's lately!

I do like betting on cricket.

My red is on Aus! They still have a chance but lets see what the atmospherics hold. It is seamers conditions. We don't need Moen. Save him for tail enders and give Root the ball if we need to.

I think Australia will have to come out swinging once they have got their eye in. Khawaja maybe excepted but it would help their cause if he could rotate the strike more actively.

Anyone thing Aus could bat out for the draw? Pretty unlikely unless there are early wickets otherwise they must try to get the runs and quickly. No point dying wondering.

Eng 1.7 - 6.6

I am Aus lay 2.88
England back 2.13
Draw back 10.84

It's getting noticeably brighter now and a few breaks of sunshine.

67 overs!

A bit of sun will not hurt. We do not want a wet ball. It will also be humid and muggy and that is important for swing.

67 overs still available (TMS)...

Aus seem well backed!

Yeah I thought they might end up needing 4 an over but 67 overs wow. They can afford to just survive if it's moving around with 3 fast scoring players to come.

The sun breaks only lasted a few minutes WD the cloud cover is pretty continuous. I suspect Jimmy will enjoy this.

I think so too Foinavon

So excited! Could be a humdinger!

Also interesting how Stokes " mistake " could still be a mistake or godsend!

It was a bit of a gamble but we would be praising him had a wicket fallen. I don't think many runs were sacrificed.

Yet another great call to put 2 fielders in front of the batsman and he gets caught behind. Mind games at their best again-but it was only the night watchman.

At the present rate they will get enough no balls to win the game by 7.00!

Stokes can't have pulled up well after his short first innings stint.

Missing him, and a fit Moeen, makes this an ask.

And even lower on the fall of wicket Shocked

Surprised it thinks Australia could block this out, both willingly *and* successfully.
