Nobody has mentioned the salient point Yet again we bottled it, won the toss and refused to bat in the Test format 1) shows the opposition that you are frightened of them 2) you CHOOSE to bat last when the pitch should be at its worst (conducive to spin, rough patches etc) 3) you CHOOSE to face “scoreboard pressure” It’s total lunacy |

it's not inconceivable this is on if joe can get 70/80 and Pope Billings 30/40,Woakes 30 and a few boundaries from the tail but unfortunately unlikely esp giving conditions are quite bowler friendly

Did we actually make 300 in the series? We got saved last test so technically we did lose five nothing but score is 4-0 again We’ve pretty much lost 15 tests in a row since 2011 down there if not for rain assistance saving two draws Mind bending 13 official losses two lucky draws in 3 ashes series past 8 years... |

anyhow,for me,great to see these pitches with smth in it for the bowlers and batsmen having to work for their runs

they are obviously coached to bat across the line, as very few play straight and hit the ball, back where it came from. Far too much joke cricket the 100 needs kicking out of the game and just play 20/20. Cricket needs to be played properly, where the bowling side, have to bowl the opposition out, before they can bat. Now the side selected for this tour and I said so at the time, was always going to be way short of what was needed and that is how its proved, especially in the batting line up. Apart from Root and an injured Stokes, the rest was unproven at this level and none have come up to scrath.
