At least dumfukkery is not restricted to our management. WTF did Cummings not leave his phone in his hotel room? He got pinged at a restaurant. 26 people in NSW have covid! As far as we know he ain’t one of them!
By:
Guess it's a fine line between imprisoning them in a hotel and risking something like this. I wonder if they go out to dinner during a game, and what happens if 4 of them get pinged.
By:
Exactly!
Starch and Lyon were on adjoining tables! Leave your phone behind! I don’t blame them for going to dinner just no need to take your phone and risk being pinged. |
By:
I. An see England going through that batting tonight if they get through these 3
By:
Top of off FFS, have we learned nothing?
By:
Nooooooooooo, gutted
By:
I hate you Butler
that was a dolly. This time his foot movement was terrible! |
By:
He is just not a natural glove man
By:
Undone the glorious work first up.
Cannot. Drop. Marnus. |
By:
and he is not a test Class batsman. I mean he is incredibly talented and that but should not be keeping for England!
By:
I mean, he's a natural at anything he does but he's certainly not a specialist in the Test arena.
Personally prefer him to JB but wouldn't mind seeing Foakes in there for a stretch. |
By:
Not gonna happen, though, for whatever reason.
By:
I think Foakes is injured but I would have YJB ahead of Butler
By:
Hard to bet here. Fancy an Aus lay but No!
By:
Labuschagne is so impressive, can't think of anyone better at leaving it alone. Just plays at the balls he chooses, rather than having it dictated by the bowler or surface.
Liking the two bat-pads for him right now. |

Eng on target to only get an over or two with the newy under lights....

By:
wtf is this tripe now on r4 longwave
By:
gonna have Rooty having to bowl 7-8 overs in the 'night' session when you'd like to be virtually all seam if they do want to catch up...more fines and point deductions if they don't..
By:
taxi for the Butler....
By:
could have caught that in a pint glass
By:
That will be hard to come back from
By:
if he takes both chances and you add at least one minimum as a result of the inroads made - could easily have been a decent day for Eng...not bowled badly though not much rattle or intensity out there throughout....still .. only 37c tomorrow boys...
By:
and to compound it, a high chance now of starting the Eng inns in the evening session of day 2...
By:
Both chances were relatively easy. I don’t wish to blame the player as he is not a Test Kwality keeper but even an Amateur would have expected to take both chances he dropped. Whoever is running the show is responsible but sometimes these things happen unfortunately 30-3 and 40-4 happens to us quite a lot.

Watched a bit this morning and you can see we aint good enough its that simple sadly
Bowlers just aint up to it on these wickets although Anderson was very controlled as usual and came out looking good unlucky not to have a wicket or two But its going 2-0 and we wont have Broad and Anderson again in the 3rd test so write that one off as well No complaints about the 4 seam attack with Root providing the spin rotation, we simply dont have a class spinner so we’re having to make due |
By:
Stuart Clark in the last Test said when you pitch the ball up have an extra cover and mid off straighter to encourage the batsman to drive through cover, which, carries greater risk of inducing an edge. It does not seem to be rocket science but our boys do not like to be driven. What do the batting and bowling coaches get paid for?
By:
Someone mentioning no point in 5 right arm mid 80s seam bowlers no variant
Weve only taken right arm mid pacers and all of them are playing almost, Wood isnt playing hes another who cant play 5 test matches We havent planned or prepared but we knew that before the series started and so all the criticism is pointless You aint winning test series in Australia with the squad weve taken |
By:
If Australia make 500 It’ll be first of about 4 times they do in my opinion
Our bowlers will lose what little motivation they have left after this innings |
By:
Another bad day for England. This time they have checked the scoring rate, but haven't got the wickets. Can anyone see England crease occupying in the way that Australia have? Australia can bat as long as they want.
How much pressure will there be on Buttler when he comes out to bat? You can't drop catches like that when the team are toiling and coming off a hammering. His test batting record is not good enough to hide those sort of mistakes. Yes, he has the ability to make a score, but it doesn't happen nearly enough. Foakes is a class above Buttler as a keeper, and his stats as a batsman are not so shoddy as to prevent him taking over. |
By:
Buttler isnt a test batsman but the alternative is Bairstow, who I think is the slightly better keeper but no better batting wise esp in Australia
We dont have the skill, its not about mentality in my opinion, we’ll battle but that aint enough and I think our lads know it hence the lack of enthusiasm, most of them dont want to be there and you cant really blame them, they are holed up 24/7 without family and friends and it must be boring as fook out there with all those stupid “covid laws”. |
By:
It tells its own story with the amount of changing that will go on
Bairstow for Pope Foakes for Buttler Wood back in for Woakes? You can change this side up as much as we want but the result is the same 2010/11 we were dropping a leading wicket taker in Finn but Tremlett offered better control, Bresnan was a trickier bowler to face as well, although that Aussie side was worse than our current crop ![]() |
By:
Even the Aussie fans cant be bothered
![]() Although that’s probably the draconian rules theyve put in place over there |
By:
No luck to boot
Just pack up and come home ![]() |
By:
Bairstow will not be coming in for Pope.
Robinson bowling well this morning, aside from the no-balls - which need to stop. Could really do with another, pronto. |
By:
Another edge off Robinson, Smith this time.
Green, Carey, Neser next up... |
By:
Stokes bowling short pitch barrage at 120km
![]() No slips either its pretty desperate stuff this ![]() |
By:
Whatever we think about an awful drop and fields/bowling lengths - fortune has outrageously favoured Australia here so far.
Nine full overs of playing-and-missing yesterday. That has continued that today versus Robinson, and their fourth edge of the morning has just evaded the keeper (who may have held on) to bring up Smith fifty. Rest of the bowling has been poor today. (Apart from Root's magic here!!!) |
By:
Pretty sure Australia are going to pitch the ball up a metre or two from our lengths yesterday and have us on toast when it's our turn.
Hope I'm wrong! |
By:
oz looking like either declaring or being bowled out just after tea...England going to have to play exceptionally well and probably need some fortune as well to stay in the game...cloud cover, new pink ball, lights...only positive is obvs a couple of inexperienced test bowlers...
