Johnny got the raging parcole!
By:
could be parity on the 1st innings unless pope can garner plenty more runs to give england an advantage
By:
Difficult to say with these two teams. I would get Bumrah to bounce or york Moen.
By:
Maybe Ashwin should have played instead of Rahane!. Shardul is an effective batsman! I was a big rahane fan but think he has to go now.

Love Moen
Number 8 for England should be a shoe in! |
By:
Butler is excess to requirements imho
By:
A 75 lead should do it.
The more the merrier of course. |
By:
important partnership produces 50 runs ... hopefully more
By:
Moeen is in every time for me, offers so much, but been fecked with for years.
By:
14 overs until the new ball.
England will be looking for 4 an over now. |

Better from Moeen but still a shocking way to get out.

Every faith in woakes, England look well placed

Woakes doing a fine job.
85 lead now. Fingers crossed for another 15. |

England 1.46
Chip a couple out tonight. India backs to the wall in the morning. At that's the plan. ![]() |
By:
Even 350 is not enough
By:
Back to the old days. Second 5 wickets score a lot more than the first 5. We are still yet to solve our opening batsmen problem.
By:
It’s a game of if’s fir India. If their batting can function just once in a benign pitch with the sun out they could be in a position to win the series. Of course they have not looked competent all summer. If that roller has not flattened the pitch enoug( they have no chance. I think I could score on this pitch!
By:
Hard to believe it is still only day 2 so the wicket should still be OK. Dropped!
By:
Well well! Game on

Close of play.
2.03 England 2.46 India 10.00 Draw. |

By:
Good effort, barstool. Very useful for keeping track of overnight drift, which often reverts back at resumption of play.

cricket on my home page , score india 100 -4 in the 1st inngs still

Sun is shining, the weathe4 is sweet
![]() Well cloud high, sun trying to break through. Batting day! |
By:
I saw Woakes make a hundred at The Oval last time India were here. Class act.
By:
Yeah Woakes very good player arguably at the time of his test ton he was technically Englands best batsman. Since hes played Ipl his technique has altered slightly and doesn't play in the v as much. If I remember rightly he saw England home with Buttler against Pakistan last year at Old Trafford.

No place for Vince atm but he should be in the frame. I trust in Hammed so for me Burns is the problem that needs addressing. Been saying fir a long time Australia will suit Crawley. He has done himself no favours but it is a chance I would take as an aggressive style is helpful at the top. He is tall and that might also be useful in Aus.

Flip flop and look at the draw

ellis john "cricket on my home page, score india 100 -4 in the 1st inngs still"
Had the same on my Match Odds yesterday until I refreshed the page. Weird. |

Interested to see how these boys do with the Kookaburra. Good bowling unit when it swings but with a soft ball?
By:
Can’t put my finger on exactly why but Burns comes across as a really unlikeable chap.
By:
genuine pace required down under ... archer out so we are reliant on wood unless injuries intervene (as is always likely with him)
aussies certainly not unbeatable but far from convinced we are good enough to be ultra competitive in oz conditions ... need 400 plus scores regularly to have any chance |
By:
Could anyone have imagined after Day #2 close-of-play that the draw would get to 6s without a weather threat?
By:
I like Burns and admire his tenacity bu5 he has technical issues which get constantly exposed.
Yes, pace needed down under! |
