Four for Woaks now.
Bye bye Sam. ![]() |

By:
Dropped catch, run out without facing.
By:
All gone 191.

By:
Woakes is a good bat too
By:
6/2 hmmm.
By:
Why are they playing shots like that in a Test Match?
![]() |
By:
Lose Root and they are in trouble.
By:
The openers continue to drop b0ll0cks. What a shambles.
By:
Hameed.
0-80-0 three innings into his comeback. Need a bit more from your opening bat. |
By:
Oh my.

Callapso incoming

england very short @ 1.54 ... root gone & i wouldn't trust the rest to get many but we shall see

Good batting day but the beauty of this series is the constant hiding behind the sofa. It’s like back in the day when the Daley’s couldn’t go up stairs but now there is nowhere to hide for batsmen
By:
I would be calling it evens each of 2 and 1000/1 a draw. They just can't resist slashing at high balls.

By:
Malan to be England's Mike Hussey for the next five years
By:
Think I can claim that wicket from Yadav
By:
Whisperingdeath 02 Sep 21 10:06 Morning all. Too early to call. Ashwin should have played instead of Yadav. England look well balanced. Going to wait Kwality post! But Ashwin should have played |
By:
![]() I think he will do well in Aus Apt. Don’t worry Butcher claimed responsibility I would also like to see Crawley open in Aus to take the fight to them instead of Burns. |
By:
I never thought I would see the day that Umesh Yadav could bowl to a 7-2 offside field
Well I never! |
By:
Agree with commentators, bowl straight
By:
England got a lot of wickets caught behind or in the slips.
By:
England still favourites! Only Woakes left who might make double figures.
By:
That is where every straight ball should go. Back past the bowler. Should be the easiest scoring shot in the game with no fielders there.
By:
A bit harsh on the all rounders sage.
I do like Pope. He is looking good again. England starting to resemble a cricket team but how will they fare with a Kookaburra? |
By:
Difficulty comes when the straight ball deviates at all - you're bagged up behind by all the catchers.
By:
YJB producing a remarkable number of false shots/misses so far but fortune on his side.
By:
Idiot on the pitch. Put him in the stocks outside the main exit gate.

Totaly agree sage.
Hope the break in play does not cost us a wicket. |
By:
I did mean after these two whispering. Ali was supposed to be a batsman but no longer. I rate Woakes but Robinson and Anderson not exactly renowned for sticking around.
By:
See what I mean. Scoring along the ground in front of the wicket is very easy until they change the field which will open up the other shots.
By:
I actually think Moeen's clean, clean hitting is tailor-made for low-scoring matches.
If he was given licence and solely played in matches where the average innings was |
By:
...under 250, his inevitable low scores blend with everyone else's, and his 38off17s win us a few tight ones.
By:
I think he suffers for people's expectations - because he *can* look like a glorious batsman and *has* scored plenty of runs.
As a number eight, he is absolute gold for any side. He would be a nightmare to see walking in against you at six down. The question comes, however, as to how you rate his bowling... |
By:
The pitches in England, 10 mm of grass, a shitti cloudy summer, the Dukes ball and also some poor technique have not helped England’s batting cause but I suggest a team is forming and if we just had The Joff down under we would be competitive
By:
He had taken nearly 200 Test Wickets. Tell me the names of re ent England spin bowlers who have done significantly better
By:
Phil The Cat 121 Test wickets
John Emburey 147 Phil Edmonds 125 Ashley Giles 154 wickets at 40 |
By:
I was not mentioning his bowling. He was due in ahead of Overton and is down to be ahead of Woakes. He was capable but being demoted as a bowler who bats a bit in 20:20, he is no longer batting properly in test matches. Pope is really impressing now but that is because the whole attitude of India has changed since he played a couple of straight drives.
By:
I like him, makes my team every week. (In all forms) My point is I can understand people questioning his bowling more than I can his batting.
His Test batting is just a great bonus, but because it has dropped off from where it perhaps was when he debuted, I think it is viewed more harshly. |
By:
Doesn’t help that Root didn’t trust his bowling.
Great cricketer that suffered from lack of confidence and could have been better handled by England |
