could finish today with England's batting

and another dropped chance pathetic
By:
the commentary on this match s awful , so irritating and full of exaggerated nonsense
By:
Unusual for Anderson to drop one but our fielding has been pretty average in the last few years...

don't get many dull games @ Trent Bridge

The Bumrah not content with his promotion to no.10...

What is it with England and last wicket partnerships!
By:
certainly wouldn't put a lot on us setting india even 100 to win. catching has been a big problem for several years. top 6 batsmen who can't bat or catch
By:
good to see you on here Mafe' -
certainly brings back memories of darker times with all the top order collapses and drops these days, the bowling at least remains very decent though poor old Leachy must be wondering what he has to do |
By:
alright brentford. been 50 for 3 or worse more often than not for a long time back as far as 2015 at least. used to get enough runs from 4 to 8 to compensate but with moeen disappearing from the scene and woakes and stokes not featuring much lately even that has dried up
the management of leach has been a total disgrace. it's not exactly working packing the side with "batting" and going in with no spinner, is it ? so let's keep making the same mistake over and over and over again |
By:
yeah as you say when we were batting so deep and often getting out of jail as a result it papered a lot of cracks for a period...
By:
root's the only genuine established top order batsman we've produced in the last 10 years. long gone are the days of 2010/11 when the whole top 7 averaged 40+. riches indeed

By:
purely for curiosity as I know you're a big Spurs fan - what was your view of Nuno's appointment ? I was a bit surprised by some of the negativity voiced by Spurs fans on here ..
By:
See if I can talk Sibley in to a score here but Burns feels by far the more likely long term option - one of his flaws seems to have been giving it away when set which remains a criminal offence at this level..Crawley and Lawrence both have a bit of potential but can't live off that for long...Bairstow just doesn't get enough red ball cricket to retain any consistency, maybe in a different era would have progressed more..
Hameed getting talked up a lot on the media but hope they let him truly re-establish before picking again |
By:
obviously a better choice than some of the random italians with no experience of english football who were in the frame before him but i can't say i'm overenthused. strikes me he's a bit of keeping the ball for sake it of it merchant. wolves often used outplay teams without much threat up front
By:
yep fair enough..a bit of a wait and see I guess...

Much as I hate their site functionality, according to the Meteoradar projection we could get the full morning session in followed by a decent chunk of the rain falling during lunch. Looks about three hours wide, plus clean-up time.
Why the hell aren't they starting early, seeing as they know rain is coming and there's already time to make up? |
By:
lunch decent session to watch
By:
Rooty to the rescue - has this ever happened before ?
satellite starting to look quite iffy but could be better bowling conditions |
By:
Looks like it should already be raining but FalconCam is still bone dry.
By:
Wow what a leave Joe
By:
How they keep avoiding the rain is unreal
By:
a lot of the stuff on the radar is very light in colour though so how much of that stuff is actually depositing anywhere
By:
action on FalconCam, but not the type we're watching for
By:
Hope the Peregrine is a good omen. Only seen a bit of spitting on the cam so far.
By:
On the 'WeatherRadar' app right now, it has Nottingham threading a gap in the rain until at least 15:30.

another absolute blinder from Root..what a knock in the circs
By:
That has to be one of the strangest cricket market moves I have ever seen. 2.88 to 4.7 on the draw on the back of Stuart Broad's wicket.
By:
wouldn't disagree Rob but even 15-20 runs plus the time are huge - forecast for tomorrow is variable so there's a helluva lot of guessing being factored in (more than usual)
By:
fantastic match, i dont give a damn about 20/20, hundred
, 50 over ok, but nothing like test cricket, and last year been brilliant, india in aus, and 2 tests windies v bangla superb |
By:
yep, this has been fantastic stuff ej
By:
1.2 draw backers will be doing rain-dances all night.
By:
TMS been really good this afternoon as well, probably coz we havent had any girls on
By:
Well I'd sooner have one or two of the women that a couple of others on Sky.
I'd never have thought it a few years ago but I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that Mr. Holding's commentary is outdated and smacks of the blind it was better in my day attitude. His comment about helmets not necessarily being good for the game after Robinson took one right in the grill was ridiculous and Ward did well to skirt around it. |
By:
i actually didnt agree a lot with michaels lunch time talk re BLM myself

Dinesh on the other hand has been absolutely killing it all summer. Great addition.

By:
Dinesh was the best thing about waking up at 4am all Feb too - superb find on commentary!

Met office have been pretty good in short time forecasting. They just updated. Looks like we will get at least 60 overs today now. Thunderstorm showers have all vanished.
