Hi all,
All i can say at the moment is that if this is our top 3 in Australia then LORD help us. GLA |

Ironically Aus might suit all three of them! Buy yes

Serious question......Have England EVER had a worse opening pair than Burns and Sibley?
Name the pairs........ No need. We haven't. |
By:
Wisden says they are the best opening partnership since Cook and Strauss.

Is Bumrah a chucka? ARM very unnatural when releasing, imvho.

Thank God I am drinking bottled water. No he is not a chucka as his arm is straight! Yes yvho is correct, very unnatural and unusual but perfectly within the rules. His run up also defies the natural laws of fast bowling. He is a freak fo sho but a wonderful freak! |

By:
His arm is bent on release tbf

id add have they ever had a worst batting team.

omg elis?

top side England..no way are they overhyped or ever been known to collapse capitulatively!
By:
People have hyped the series (rightly, should be a cracker) but not seen anyone really hyping England's test side for some time.
By:
no,UK MSM never been known to overhype the mediocre
By:
They have, but that is a separate point. Also fairly sure partisan 'over-hyping' is probably a natural trait the world over (also a separate point).
By:
WD..u got ur little digs in
By:
You're okay to say they're over-hyped but not okay to disagree? Good to know.
Here's a dig - your same media has never been known to print anything about England's collapses. Ever. |

Not sure Johnny! |

Sibley has to go. What sort of professional cricketer cannot play scoring shots on the offside? He is a fighter for sure but his lack of scoring relieves pressure on the bowlers. Hameed in for me next game and left field here but maybe move Crawley up to open and bring Malan in at 3 and prepare for Aus. Both current openers have technical deficiencies not conducive to opening the batting in Test Cricket. Hard decisions need to be made.

The whole covid bubble, resting and rotation is appalling and has to go

By:
Poor as dog shift review

By:
England completely under cooked. Why wouldn't a series against India be important? I hope they get smoked because they have taken the pith out of us
By:
Morning all,
WD i'm with you with your thoughts on Hameed and Malan. To be honest i'm disappointed Hameed has been ignored for so long. As for this test i really don't see a way back for England. They've got a real fight on their hands to salvage a draw at best. GLA |
By:
Still a bit early for the light meter
By:
It is still early Guernsey!
Wickets can fall in clusters in these conditions and India do have some tail! But yeah they are being completely outclassed here. |
By:
Cleared the draw red for health reasons! You might be right Guernsey. This is India's game to take.
By:
surely this is going to turn a fair bit later in the game and yet again no Leach,
is Moen not available ? not a huge fan of him as front line spinner but could easily bat in the current top 6 without weakening anything and at least give you that option - he had a very decent series with the ball against India not so long ago (all be it partly because they kept trying to get after him). |
By:
India will declare at 199 for 0

KL Rahul is an excellent batsman and it is a travesty he is not their regular opener.
I feel a little sorry for Curran. he is just too short to be a Test fast bowler good though he is. The bigger boys will always be picked ahead of him and Robinson is going to emerge and head him for Australia with his bounce as he can aslo swing it and bat. Curran ought to concentrate more on his batting or let it be know he wants to be considered for the number 6 berth or even the number 3 problem slot. He is good technically and a proven Test kwality player, just too short! |
By:
Moen's face does not fit. Another travesty imho and also a victim of covid, rest and rotation. He is not going to Aus either.
By:
I think there could be an India win here but after lunch everything will go South so better to keep the powder dry and look for a market panic type mistake later.
By:
Like I said when there is rain there is cloud and where there is cloud there is swing. Tomorrow it might be Noah's Ark but Saturday may well see some play and more on Sunday. Still plenty of time to post a total and put Engerland under the cosh
