No clarity but I have taken the view that the Test Match I’d the Test Match Market. It is not d tea time!
Any luck with those streams DT? Do you have a VPN? |
By:
I use webcric which is usually only about 3 balls behind. Gives me enough time to load it when a wicket falls so I can watch the wicket 'live'. And it was working fine later in the day yesterday so i'll stick to that.
I do have VPN will see if I can catch the betfair stream via VPN today |
By:
Let me know if your vpn works please DT.
I like to use a vpn even at home and certainly on WiFi but BT certainly and I think Betfair don’t like it neither do the BBC |

Both bowlers bowling round the wicket, I like it!

i really havent been foiilowing this test closely, could someone confirm please, so if weather holds there is 3 full days after today , thanks ?
By:
Correct, elis - finishes on Wednesday (or sooner)
By:
Weather highly unlikely to hold for those three days, mind...
By:
Tomorrow is most likely to be rained off but if the weather gets stuck in The Channel there may be a chance of play.
I think the outcome of the match depends initially if India can remove these openers and get into the batting. I think NZ need to be at least 5 or 6 down before the end of play. This is effectively Day 2 of a standard Test Match. India bowling a tad short here. |

This is a tough old grind! I expected more action!

Ironic how well both sets of openers have done in these conditions and we are perpetually at 30-3

Ironic how well both sets of openers have done in these conditions and we are perpetually at 30-3 exactly what i was thinking..digging in and grinding out a start for a collapse further down the line ![]() Indian seamers getting nowhere near as much out of the pitch |
By:
About bloody time!
Now some blood in the nose! Just hoping one gets two gets three. KW might be a limpet but LT doesn't like serious pace. |
By:
The boy Ashwin is getting some loop and turn
Sorry just getting excited as I am heavily laying the draw ![]() |
By:
Oh look,Tuesday morning ducks on the outfield
By:
India gave the right bowlers on now with LT I wouldn’t be ditto see a quick wicket here
By:
That should be if for the day!
By:
I think this will come down to Ths English Channel. Can if keep the weather in France? If not I think the whole day is gawn!
By:
windies having s africa in real problems in 2nd inngs , windies could be chasing approx 250 for the win, trouble is if windies only had 100 to win theyd be 62 all out
By:
A great shame this match is being ruined by the weather. Presumably future renewals will be held where they can pretty much guarantee enough good weather over 5-6 days.
By:
Well this is getting rather interesting!
By:
It is amazing how long it can take a professional cricketer to find the top of off stump or even better the top of the 4th stump! Pretty pathetic from India.
What an inspired bowling change from Kohli? Really? Ishant to Henry Nicholls was odds on so was Ashwin! They have got so much pitch map information and they couldn't work out that they were bowling a tad short and wide last night? Gis a job, I could do that! |
By:
Good boy Ishant
Running down the pitch, not a complete idiot then! |
By:
who is in da house?

When will teams learn that if you score at 2 an over in Test cricket it will come back to bite you? NZ have managed to go from a potentially winning position to a potentially losing one this morning.
By:
Don't think so strontium. This pitch is not about scoring rates. Yes you have to punish the bad ball but you have to take your time to get in and once in do not give it away ala Rahane.
Watling and The Big Man are dangerous hitters but it will be difficult on this wicket. They must get their eye in before having a tilt. What I do not understand is why they do not actively seek a single while getting their eye in. As Geoffrey pointed out the best way to play good fast bowling is from the non strikers end! Every bowler hates getting milked for singles. It is a forgotten gift. Get people out of catching positions and into the ring then hit through or over the ring but feel assured close catchers are absent! |
By:
You put it well. Williamson is a fine player, but 19 off 112 balls has put his team and teammates under pressure.
By:
No!
I disagree a little with you. I do think that England in particular place them selves behind the 8 with Sibley unable to score on the offside. This is a difficult wicket you must admit. 112 balls is 19 odd overs. They have lost 5 wickets at the other end! The other batters were under no pressure to score quickly. 82mph is fast on a pitch like this. India have not bowled well or NZ could be in the field! |
By:
I don't think LT is a great batsman. Very very good for NZ but Martin Crowe, KW, Glen Turner and possibly a few others were better. Great servant though and good guy.
By:
Talking about lengths on tv now. Can't believe how India have missed a trick here. 68 overs bowled on such a helpful pitch and only 5 wickets down
By:
Yes, it's a difficult pitch. But they've scored 135 off 72 overs (1.875 rpo). If they'd scored at, say, 2.75 an over, they'd be almost level with India and at little risk of losing the game. Now, if India roll them over for 165, NZ could well lose (with 166 overs remaining in the game).
I think England nowadays are the wrong comparison - they try to socre too quickly and don't value their wickets. Here, NZ have prioritised crease occupation over run scoring and it's put them under pressure. England did a similar thing at Adelaide in 2006. They scored about 130 off 73 overs in the second innings and Australia then got about 170 in 30 overs to win the match. It's not enough just to stay in, you have to score as well - which is why I agree with your point about rotating the strike. |

Cricketers are megastars in India.

By:
Still don't agree Stron,
Although it is quite astonishing that they have scored only 135 off 72 overs BUT what is more astonishing for me is that they are STILL batting! I think that is what you are missing. Lets see what The Big man and Watling can do on this, both fine hitters. New ball will travel but only as long as they are at the wicket. The NZ lower order can bat, hit and score runs so lets see if they do! I do agree though on a pitch like this every run is vital so why not look for them even singles! |
