Don't need any more runs at all.

Are we sure this is the same pitch as earlier today???
By:
very true

Only 2 wickets went due to pitch, the others just threw their wickets away. The mad market price was 100% right all long.

looked plumb to me

nicely bowled Jack

No way did 8 batsmen throw their wicket away; Sibley didn't/Leach didn.t/Pope didn't

Think he might have been talking about the Bangla test

By:
no, don't think so

but he can tell us

He's not playing a shot!!

lol VV...very true
that one and the Rahane yesterday are proper sick by any standards |
By:
Was it the same third umpire?
By:
Same throughout the test.
By:
It would be the on-field umpire decided he played a shot, surely?
By:
I would believe so VV, think he gets the whole gig just in case India end up in sticky situ
![]() to be fair virtually every home series has appeared to have a hint of home bias during this period,...but this guy is taking it to the old days |
By:
wow plumb
By:
yep, sorry you'd be correct I guess No.9 ... presumably that aspect not reviewable ...though maybe clear errors of that type should be added to their remit.
By:
Same 3rd umpire, but I think the shot played decision was by the on field umpire. Even so, its a shocker. Combine that with the incorrectly handled review of the caught in the first innings, and the mysterious only one view available for the stumping in the 1st as well.
India do not need any help from the umpires to win this match, so why they are failing to administer the rules correctly is a mystery to me. |
By:
By what we’ve seen on tv no. It looks as though the on field umpire has no say in it.
By:
Well, I hate to suggest it in the face of implacable cynicism here, but why might it not be incompetence rather than cheating?
By:
anil chaudhary 1st Test as umpire this series
By:
By:
I agree incompetence. It has been noticeable in the past few days how poor the Sri Lankan and Pakistani umpires are, except for Aleem Dar.
By:
Perfectly possible No.9 ...the stats for even the marginal decisions which of course are even more important in the review era would make for interesting viewing though..I thought Pak especially got the wrong end of that in England

There's a whole lot of inexperience there!

windies win
By:
Surely it would be more consistent logic if an umpire's call of any sort could be overturned, whether it be about where the ball pitched or if it went on to hit or if a shot was being played - all three are an umpire's non-infallible judgements.

By:
I think that's mainly about even the tech vendors admissions on level of accuracy possibly allied to the fact that when umps keep getting calls wrong (as would become more likely) they tend to totally lose the plot and just start guessing....much like myself

Why would you change half the team after winning the first test in that fashion
Utterly inept cants sorry Got what we deserved here sadly |
By:
It was all about the took in both games
Although in this one I did batted better and bowled a lot better. First game was a Root Master Class with invaluable contributions by both openers that have been over looked. Anderson while genius was not the match winner. Root and the pitch wot won it. This game was genius from The Incredibly Talented Rohit Sharma and the pitch. Imho Rohit’s 80 runs before lunch on first day took it away from England |
