There was an recent interview with Wood who said that Stokes always gave his opinion in team meetings but wasn't a captain.

Yeah I agree with that Root might be wise to get Stokes in on the field placings etc a bit more though? |
By:
I imagine Stokes to be an "ok lads let's get stuck into them, go hard at them, give them nothing" but not saying how to do manage a game. Only time will tell.

I have no problem with women on commentary
its the fact they've never played the game that irks me because they cannot speak from their experiences only what they've read or seen or heard women's international cricket & men's international cricket are just not comparable never have been never will be |

Will Leach open,
By:
Agreed - it's not simply them being female. It's the lack of depth of experience.
It's OK having a female summariser,I guess, but they don't really add anything else. To be fair though, I prefer listening to them than to that camp old tw@t Blowers. And maybe there's a slight chance that more women will become interested in the sport (whether that's a good thing I'll leave for you lot to argue about amongst yourselves). |

They should. Will see how confident Paine is as a captain

By:
What do we think? 420 from 85?
By:
Leave 10 overs or so to bowl.

I dare say Smith has as much say as Paine.

Smith on the decline, lowest score yet
By:
the only reason smith got out was he was chasing the runs not due to any good bowling..it was yet another sh1te delivery from the hopeless Leach..Ben is money in the field tho'
Oz should struggle to bowl Eng out on this surface but won't as Eng will graciously facilitate their cause |
By:
Why bowl Leach?? England need to slow the game down
By:
he is dire ..we just ain't got any spinners, have we?
