They’re ahead of him in the ratings right now, as is Nicholls and today obviously won’t help him. Pujara is the only one I’d actually consider picking ahead of him though. I suppose Warner, if actually playing tests, would be an absolute banker as he’s an opener. You’d probably go:

Root (punchy opening pair)
Pujara
Kohli
Williamson *
Smith
De Kock +
Holder
Jadeja
Cummins
Rabada

Bats a fair way down. Obvious cases to be made for Anderson, Ashwin and Philander.
