That's a safe bet CS. Just don't forget to cash out before Pak take a lead in case things go wrong.

Any further news on the injuries? are they just cautionary tales? Will Stokes bowl? Woakes would appear a better horses for courses pick in any case. Looks like cloud cover for the whole match so why play an off spinner in any case?
Still not sure about England for this but particularly at 1.63. It just seems a mad price! |

Is the team that plays for Eng tomorrow any worse than the team that DEVOURED Saffers last year? (except for the 1 game where they were Devoured by Saffers)

Just lifted this from the Grauniad as it made me laugh!
DeanWalling95 A superb article on this by Simon Hughes on the bbc site. It's quite long though , to save you the trouble I'll sum it up. England are better at ODIs than Tests because a) Their technique is crap and none of them (apart from Cook) move their feat to the pitch of the ball. This doesn't matter against the white ball but when the red one swings they end up nicking it. None of them (apart from Cook) have the brains to work this out. b) They have no patience. None of them (apart form Cook) can cope with going five minutes without scoring so dry up the runs and they will inevitably smack the ball straight to a fielder. c) They're all feckin idiots. None of them (apart from Cook) have any idea how to play two innings cricket. Butler is so used to the IPL that he didn't even seem to realise in the first innings at Lords that slips were in place. D) They're all arrogant as well as stupid and therefore totally fail to realise there's a problem or that it's in anyway their own fault. |

Sorry CS,
But yeah but! The current England side certainly the one that went out at Lords look like they should be arrested for impersonating cricketers! Can't bat, can't bowl, can't field! These are professional cricketers! Again I am not saying they cannot win but the odds like the First Test are askew. Look fair enough a lot may depend on luck in this match like who is batting and who is bowling when it swings but I am getting a feeling here that Pakistan mean business. At worst Pakistan have every chance to win this match for me so I am positioning myself for that ante post. Whatever happens I am sure this is going to be a tense struggle with the enormity of what is at stake for both sides, players and management. That to me indicates the odds will converge and if they don't in the correct manner like they did not at Lords until after the start of the final morning I am going to hammer them! |

woakes definitely a more reliable bowler than stokes in english conditions. he'll put it the right place more often

Pakistan definitely mean business. But they are Pakistan.
Why not lay the draw and pick up your money with interest 5 days later? I know its not the way some of you gamble but... |
|
By:
Pitch is straw coloured and dry. Bess will probably play. Woakes or Wood? Drop Broad and send a signal I say! Woakes ought to play. If he doesn't I would say Husar because somebody will lose their job sooner than later and I shall win some money!
We are assuming the ball will swing like a banana and I think it will but Headingley do usually provide good pitches. If the ball does not swing then the England attack will look lame. I am holding back some on Pakistan for now as prudent financial management but my gut tells me to throw the whole lot on them now! Currently 5.1 Pakistan. might be tempted for more at 4.7 The first session will be crucial and give us an idea as to how this match might go. Cloudy for all 5 days even if the pitch is good that will not help the draw. It might be nice if some of you Northern Monkeys might venture your opinions on weather and ground conditions and recent ground history. |

Verified account @GeorgeDobell1 Follow Follow @GeorgeDobell1 More Seems Buttler will bat 6, followed - in this order - by Woakes, Curran and Bess. Then Broad and Anderson. So 3 changes from Lord's. None of that confirmed. |
