Thanks. I said before when England were around 30/2 or 3 or whatever that they were over-priced. I meant that their odds were too skinny, over-priced as in costing too much to buy.

From further up..

Just my tuppence worth (and not how most of the more vocal people on here seem to think) but the way you say it makes much better sense. However, most forumites seem to  use "odds" and "price" fairly interchangeably as if they were the same thing, rather than being inverses of each other (assuming they are backers, which is usually the case when not mentioned).

A good example is T3's reply "overpriced = over the price you think it should be" - that to me is still very ambiguous. I assume he means the odds are longer than they should be, but someone could also read that to mean the price is more expensive than it should be (i.e. too short for a backer).

I much prefer when people say "the odds are (too) short/long" - there's no room for misinterpretation there.

The luxury of having a player good enough to get into the side on batting alone playing at number 8 has got England out of trouble a few times now.

england might even get the luxury of a 2nd new ball now not that i think it's likely to get that far

Think it depends on your background.
In a financial sense or from a financial market background, then Overpriced would make more sense as meaning "Costs more than it should".
If you have more of a gambling background and grew up on odds, its always been used as the odds are too high

cant be a draw

do WI get the 280+ they need or not, the only thing that needs deciding

I'd say eng are around 1/5-1/6 to defend 300

Tom, I just backed windies at 19 and cashed out at 11 after that wicket. They are never gonna chase this down but yet another example of how you can win backing the result that's not gonna happen.

England will not declare, they are 1-0 up in the series, when they come out to bowl they want to put the Windies under alot of pressure with men around the bat, so they will bat on until bowled out. The only way they will declare, is if they are still batting at 12.00 tomorrow.

Have been trading a storm last 2 1/2 days having been shockingly placed with my early notion of backing England at short odds (although did trade my red down day 1). Only fly in ointment was laying England at 1.5 early in the Ali Woakes partnership but I have backed draw twice in the teens and got rid of it at on average about 2/3 the price later. I even held some 13s right down to 6s early day 3.

Already near flat on draw which makes me a bit reluctant to lay it again but think it should be near double figures here, not mid 5s. Two quick wickets kill it near stone dead.

England only looking to score from the poor balls bowled currently, which proves they will not declare.

Why's isn't Woakes playing more shots? Want runs or to be bowling.

I like the steady accumulation tbh, plenty of time/overs left in the game make them chase 300+
By:

WI will be chasing the runs to win regardless

Compromising by laying at 4.5 to go under a grand draw red. Crazy price if it gets there. Don't think WI should be much shorter than 4s to last a day and England probably would have enough for a few overs tonight if not bowled out first.

Eight down you only start playing T20 a few overs before you pull the plug.

One of those situstions where the skip should show some balls and tell the opposition to chase. But never happens.

Still it will je over at halftime tomorrow

Still no sign of the wicket playing tricks so I would carry on for an hour tomorrow to make sure you can't lose.

its spun and there's a bit of uneven bounce but its a long way off being a minefield as 2 scores of 400+ show
