Would still expect it to move a bit

Batting should be fairly easy for Aus when they come in, but the ball doesn't need to move much to cause them problems. NZ could be batting again tomorrow.

I cannot work out the price on NZ at the moment. Surely they are too low now?

draw not a runner NZ need to bowl out aus for under 200 for approx 20% of the time to justify their price
seems fair to me

not involved pre match on this game

It is, there have been some huge 2nd innings scores at this ground. That is why they leave so much grass on, because it flattens out so much in days 2.3.4 & 5

Just need another 100 from this pairWink

well yeah if its 167 & 600 plays 600 then draw is a runner but realistically 9 wickets before tea on 1st day with a decent weather f/c draw is normally a dead duck

tbf it's more of a trade than an actual bet on the end result.

out, this could get interesting. Does not really help your big + on the draw though does it Jucel?

voges and marsh the real threat in this aussie line up under difficult batting conditions.

be surprised if khawaja and warner last long.

I now need about evens to get down to a manageable loss

Batting does look very very easy even with the new ball which seems ominous, the first wicket regardless.... I may go on overs on run lines at 300.... wait a few more overs to see if any swing about.

i would have opened with marsh and voges today.

it's a ****g terrible opening pair when there's anything in the wicket.

tough to underestimate just quite how good chris rogers was, exceptional test player imho. way way better opener than warner.

Day 5 forecast now,

Fine spells, few showers in north.

Whatever 'in north' means.

Aus get to stumps still 2 down, I'd say NZ have no chance (batting last won't be much of a disadvantage for Aus). Lay NZ time.

Have just seen the 'no-ball' that wasn't. (Voges bowled by Bracewell)

This is classic ICC and it's inability to see past their nose.

Illingworth called it wrong on the field but because of this obsession with giving the standing umpire more power than the 3rd umpire, the decision cannot be overruled.

I haven't had a bet yet so not book talking. Glad I didn't lay Oz - I would have been livid.

The stupidity of this decision or lack of one is made worse by the fact the standing umps often don't bother checking for no balls and refer them when a wicket falls!!

Can the bowler call for a review? Always wondered that. Also when someone like Tait cuts the return crease can the non striker ask for a review if he knows it is a no ball?

I can imagine all you DRS Seethers seething

When: 12 Feb 16 09:43
Apparently the ICC have discussed on a few occasions (see cricinfo).

No, they can't ask for a review.

I bet they will change that after this though.

Surely all it takes is for the umpire to just ask the 3rd ump to check as the batsman is walking off.

Why cant the moron sittig on the 3rd umpire's seat check the noaball in real time for every delivery and show it on the screen(or turn on a light) when the bowler oversteps? What does he do the whole da anyways? What are his tasks other than when the decision is refered to him? If he is too busy, why cant they have a separate person do this?
