Funny market - draw dropped from above 7 to 6 almost instantly in response to not many runs. Anyway, it's gone past my lays now so I'm green on everything except NZ win, which doesn't seem terribly probably unless they manage to injure an awful lot more of the Aussies.

its that man Gary Lyon

By:
Tom Latham gone for 36
By:
Gary Lyon was very much a cultural reference I needed Google for.
Would be an exaggeration to say that this is all on Kane Williamson now but certainly an awful lot of it is. |
By:
i've not been watching this, so don't know if the comms have done it yet or not, but if Williamson can get another 35 runs he'll have scored over a 1000 runs in the last 12 months at an average of over 100.
that's pretty remarkable. especially when you consider that it contains series against Pakistan, England and Australia all at home. |
By:
Commentators definitely have given recognition to Williamson. Applauded the way he has played on the front and back foot, especially on the bouncier GABBA and WACA wickets. I think they mentioned he was their best batsman.

Predict Viz, from Channel 9, predicts Australia to win this by 271 runs...................its based on past history, form , captains tactics etc, weather
By:
Not sure how a reliable a tool it is, as its something new from Channel 9 for this cricket
By:
its called 'WinViz'
By:
End of Day 2 (WinViz predicts): Aus 82.06%, Draw 15.21%, NZ 2.73%
By:
End of Day 2 (Betfair Odds): 1.32 (75.76%), Draw 4.90 (20.41%), NZ 20.00 (5%)
By:
quite a discrepancy there
By:
Someone from England wrote the program. A guy called Nathan Leamon constructed the CricViz model. Nathan has been the England Cricket Performance Analyst since 2009.
By:
80:20 in favour of Australia seems about right. Whether NZ should be 20 or 40 on here is just a guess as there are too many imponderables.
Thanks for kind comments BJT. Charlie, are you still holding the draw or have you cashed in your chips? |
By:
Guys forget about that winviz channel 9 technology, how they come up with these predictions.

Still on the draw. |
By:
Seems to be getting better every time I look, you have nerves of steel. Wish I'd kept mine a bit longer.
By:
I've got 5% or so of my peak draw green and I too regret not keeping it longer (or at least keeping a small lay at 5.5 rather than moving it up to 7) but if Williamson had been out cheaply the draw could have been at 20s by now.
By:
Winviz has this over day 4, which looks optimistic to me, does depend on WIlliamson though.
In good shape and got rid of almost all my NZ red overnight. |
By:
If BMc gets going, especially with Williamson at the other end, market will panic and NZ price drop quickly.
IF? |
By:
Cooler this morning, which should make batting easier. But maybe bowling also. Aus bowling yesterday was so so.
By:
Took my stake off after Latham's wicket yesterday @ 1.2. Looks like I could win SFA
Don't really fancy another back of Aus just yet. If NZ bat all day then Aus bat 2 sessions, that leaves about 120 overs for NZ. |
