it has been an innings of a side more concerned about losing a series 0-2 than leveling it to 1-1.
By:
^^ not so sure about that comms reckon 250 is par so havent they done well?
By:
Comms? What the hell do they know?
By:
generally more than us
By:
come on BJT lazy comment!
By:
Not really. If we bet to what the comms say, we would all be broke in a week.
By:
At least by not listening I am dragging it out to a couple of weeks... ffs
By:
he's right though,
they've not relayed the square since the kiwis scored 690 here a year ago. i'd say 360ish is par. pakistan were careless in their first innings, england's response has been ludicrously over-cautious. the chances of england winning rest largely on pakistan showing the same carelessness second time around. |
By:
deary me .
By:
Exactly. Comms go as far as seeing what Pakistan made, and figure in a careless wicket and come up with 250. Is ridiculous.
By:
everyone knows better these days.
By:
comms are just as confused as us about this pitch
some of them are worth listening to and others not. I listen to Geoffrey and Atherton. |
By:
So if an ex player invited you to a net and took you through what he'd learnt over a 20 year career. You'd say **** it they know nothing.
By:
The draw looks very fair to me atm. Backing Pakistan to bat for approximately 5 and a half sessions at 9/2. It's unlikely but don't think it's a 9/2 chance.
By:
Well most on here make their money betting on the cricket. The comms make money by finding things to say for hours on end.

you look at the technique of some of these players and you begin to wonder.....
representing your country should be the pinnacle of your career and you should be at the hight of your powers. Some of these batsmen have such glaring deficiencies you have to wonder. |

Hesitant to write him off here. Remember playing juniors and the team we were playing had their best player break his arm. In a cast, he went out there, played opposite hand, basically one handed, and retired on 50 as you are required to.
But then, if they have any go here, they simply bowl quick, and short. Jar his bat or make him work his shoulders. |

Drw 6-1 with Patrick Power 5s on here
By:
draw just gone 9/2 with power
By:
get wahab on here, short and full
as if by magic! |
By:
another short one please!

howdi - i think on certain things, yes, an ex-player's judgement is way superior to mine and i would always defer to their viewpoint.
but by and large, having watched and listened to decades of cricket, their assessment of conditions is no better than mine. in fact, i'm far more prepared to make an assessment which is contrary to what has happened on the field, rather than assuming the a side's score is consistent with the conditions, which is more often than not the position the commentators take. |
By:
fair point.
By:
3 front line bowlers for England, be interesting to see how they fare
By:
think this england price is one or two wickets premature....
By:
Interesting times. This is where you traders can make a fortune or get burnt at the stake. I have concluded my action and just looking to reduce exposure now.
Every over with new wicket will ad ticks. Every wicket will see the price crash. timing is impossible and dangerous as 1 wicket could lead to 2 or 3 or 4. Dangerous time to be exposed on England as if wickets falls it will be hard to recoup any money right up to the end of the match ( and hopefully Pakistan win )Geoffrey thinks Pakistan may have problems but should the lead be knocked off without the loss of too many wickets the pressure is returned to England. Must remember to cash out after every 50 odds runs assuming wickets are not crashing. On the plus side the big red is still on the draw moderate red England now |

Azhar Ali is a much better batsman than Masood
By:
I saw him bat as a teenager at lords against Australia. I was struck by how much time he had. Should he survive the new ball i would expect him to get a decent score today
By:
anyone with steel balls and deep pockets would do well to back the draw here. I think if there is no new ball wicket it falls from 5 to 4 within 30-45 minutes

12 out of 270 odds teams with a first innings deficit of more than 72 have won in Asia. Thank God we are in Asia minor!
By:
where did you pluck that gem from?
By:
missed that imo
By:
not out for me
By:
wow that was extraordinary phew
By:
if Pak apply themselves and get 300 is 230 too much 4 Eng in the 4th inns or achievable?
By:
No problem with this approach, see off England's two main bowlers. They know they can play the spinners with relative ease
By:
12 is the magic number
prices shoot out to 12 then come back I think the draw might come down to the low 3's at some point but I will not be able to take advantage |
