90 minutes of stubborn cricket without loss so I can find an anti Paki bet, and happy days.  Don't like relying on wickets.  See how we go.

2/190 must see close to 3.00 Pakistan.  Be happy to jump on a 2.50-2.66 train tbh even if I do get off at an early stop.....

Little guy from Notts?  Elijah Wood?  Confused

Bells average is high because of his rate against minnows and a 1 or 2 year peak 4 or 5 years ago.

goodness knows how bell has scored over 7000 test runs Shocked, he cost England victory in the last test match Sad he really must go, but can see him staying if England win this test Cry

I like Bell, he keeps you awake. Best player though is Root, he's quality.

Did not rate Root at first Shocked but as you suggest, he is now a quality test player, great attitude !!!

Cook is another Test player I like, he has a great appetite for runs. Should never have been near the ODI team however for as long as he was.

Well Cook, what a turnaround !! scored one 50 in 25 tests as captain, everybody including my girlfriend who knows absolutely nothing about cricket said why is he still captain, then won the Ashes and now scoring plenty of runs, huge respect !!!

Cook is great, is now consistently very good without the c*cksure attitude like Bell.

Crucial for England to go on tomorrow and get a decent lead. If they don't I cannot see them winning.I'd say the whole series depends on the next two sessions. If England are still batting they have a huge chance to win the series.  Like most I don't have huge faith in the middle order. I hope they play positively and put pressure on Pakistan's two decent bowlers to bowl more overs than they should. It would be nice to have Moen coming in at 8 but the selectors have got it wrong again.

All to play for and rolling the dice still on England at 4.19 but looking for an exit all the time.

Root is one of my favourite current cricketers. Once he gets stuck in he's impossible to remove. He'll go on to score 100 tomorrow.

If England bat until well into the final session tomorrow I think they will win but if the are bowled out for less than 375 can't see anything other than Pakistan - draw very unlikely

Is it fair to say this one is hard to call?!

Got a red on England and green the other 2.

Waiting for the right time to lay the draw quite heavily. The 'experts' predict the pitch will aid spin on Days 4 and 5. We're yet to see any deterioation and so I remain a tad sceptical..

As ever in Tests, the match will speed up at some point. In AD it was Day 5. Hopefully here it'll be sooner.

All 3 outcomes will trade lower and higher. HTHs Laugh

nearly joint jollies now..i've laid Eng which makes them a virtual shoo-inGrin
if they add 80+ in the 1st session and lose 2 wkts or less reckon they'll be 2.2 or even lower
however if Pak can take 3 or more they will be nearer that price
quite an intriguing match to date and likely to get more so unless Pak get Eng out for 300-320 which would see them in a fairly strong position
shouldn't really be a draw given the prognostications for spin aid but still could yet be

I have layed the draw this afternoon but with the slight drift i could gamble on England driving the price in a little shorter,i'm guessing this is where trading the county circuit (yes i must be one of a handful that trade it) comes into play.Lots of time left, wickets have fallen today and with Englands soft underbelly/Pakistans long tail -i would have the draw at 5s right now.I'm happy to give my money out if i'm wrong. Root holds every chance England have.

no way mohin shd be opening batting at 8 was a massive boost against the ausiies , selectors are ****s ffs find an opening batsman to open with cooke and stop messing with the top order total incompetence

I've played a little bit of cricket but i've always wondered if it even matters what order they bat in, having Bell in at 3 is like saying he can play opener. He cant ... we all know he can't. Ali doesnt possess the skill to open but nor does Hales at international level. A real issue for England. There is a young lad Abell for Somerset, he will be playing for England opening by winter 2017.

With England batting last, I expect Shah to win this for Pak, but draw could go quite a bit shorter before then.

I'm not buying the hype on Rashid. Not in the same class as the best sub-continent spinners IMO. Pak could well fold, but I don't see England bowlers rolling them.

Apparently early moisture in Dubai, so could be early wickets. Although new ball 30 overs away. If Root goes, England's chances in this match get quite a bit less.

cricketing instinct tells me england are still more likely to be knocked over for 330 here than bat all day and get 450+. as others have said a lot depends on root and hard to have much confidence in the likes of stokes and buttler getting many in these conditions

that said if england can even get close to the pakistan total i don't especially fancy them under pressure. very reliant on younus and misbah. could easily see them falling in a heap

Bollox to the cricket lads johnnythebull deserves an award here for using the rather marvellous word "prognostications".(post of 20.07)

Fifteen letters all in a row and perfectly relevant in his text.

Beat that and I shall doff my cap more than I do to johnny.

Bravo johnny, cap well and truly doffed.
