I'm glad the game is moving on, my main worry was the draw. England are going to have to play out of their skin to win from here

Pak odds drifting a fair bit presumably on the premise Eng will have a 1st inns lead..not so sure about that personally

Got to be scared of this Shah and Wahab on the reverse but until then England should make a good fist of things.

strange that having drifted they're now hardening....match very finely balanced

unless the pitch changes dramatically on the last 2 days only the frailties of either side's batting or stud bowling should ensure any result other than a draw imho

Never said I didn't like it.  I simply posed a question of "all out for 390?".

And Mike.  Calm down.
You are 1 of 2 things.
1.  Goose that claims free money, and dead certainties.
2.  Goose that bets full banks on things he thinks are free money, or dead certainties.

Either way, you are in no position to claim anybody does or doesn't know anything.  A broke or foolish punter, is in no such position to make judgement on others.

I just can't believe Bell has made a career in this team. Always looks 'busy', always looks confident but rarely gives us a good show.

2 wickets in 3 balls. Ignore this. Onto the test.

if the pitch is like this on day 2 johnny, it's hard to see this going to a draw.

Moeem and Bell are walking wickets anyway so draw still has just as much of a chance l

I have laid the draw, at 3.5, but we have 12 wickets in 9 hours cricket, or whatever overs have been bowled. England don't play spin well, they do on a very slow turner, but not expecting much from too many of the batsmen. Cook and Root scored over 350 of the 1st innings runs last time, on a dead wicket and Pakistan now have a high quality spinner playing here, so unless these two can go big again, then I would of thought a Pakistan win is most likely.

i think bell has to go. the grit isn't there any more, even his knocks against australia over the summer at edgbaston were flashy and too aggressive by his standards.

my concern is that england have a tough winter (pakistan away, sa away) followed by a softer summer (SL Pakistan at home followed by bangladesh away), and then 2016 to 2017 is challenging (india away, south africa home, australia away)

If we delay the decision to replace him until next summer, we risk doing another gary ballance: letting someone score softer runs against weaker opposition to only find out later on that they're not good enough against better bowlers. We need to blood our new middle order batsman here and against south africa.

Bell should have gone before during or after the ashes, pointless bringing him here.

cook and root will put on a double hundred stand. All in England to beat these match fixing scum bags.

it's not that good since the start of the ashes: it's about 23.

there are some arguments for keeping him, but the overwhelming one for getting rid of him is that better sides have got rid of better players in better form to make way for properly preparing young players.

Bell has to go soon. Taylor deserves another chance. We need an opener. I'd actually like to throw Stokes in at 3 to develop his game, maybe not yet but both Botham and Flintoff were better batsmen than their test records show.

Ali was doing fine at 8. I remember Steve Waugh averaging 273 in his first series in England coming in at 7. Alan Border was asked is there a case for moving Steve Waugh up the order and Border just said dismissively " why, don't you think he making enough runs where he is! ". The same could be said for Moen.

I figured the game would go like this. these two need to make a huge stand or England will be charcoaled. I can see Shah cleaning up in the second and Wahab not getting a chance with reverse!. England must attrition Shah and Wahab first innings and punish the filth to put pressure back on Misbah.

I think Pakistan win this game but staying with England a bit longer.

Softer runs maybe, but he is the real deal.  25 years old, averages 48 in test cricket (yes at home, but against SL/Ind/WI), but still averages 52 in your county cricket.  How many players do you have doing that?

From what I can see, he has very limited options against non "weaker opposition" in his stats....

Taylor also, yes.

Said this 12 months ago, nothing really wrong with your batting stocks.  Bell of course was my captain of choice, but has done SFA since.  Maybe he does have to go.

From my point of view though, an antiPom, things are looking up.  Have some real players, and options.  Still don't like at all your 2 top bowlers, but the energy has died down with Cook starting to show more of a backbone.  At least IMO.  Still feel he isn't a captains ****, but a stubborn **** with the bat.  Boring as batsiht but still to be respected.  Batting for a week at 40 degrees has me a fan.

Don't think you guys are too far away tbh.  A bit of attitude and good to go.
