BJT do u believe in ur aussies to get the job done here?
By:
I respect the BJTs opinion, hes the alpha males
By:
I think if there is 5 days play, they probably get it done. Completely depends on mental fatigue of England being in the field with zero hope for so long, waiting for Aus to dangle them a carrot.
By:
In saying that, I am watching the footy so only probably seen 50% of the play over the 2 days...

Yeah. On North to beat them. Half decent result on the line.... But plenty of green room...

i don't have implicit faith in eng as to how they will approach things
in this scenario they need to play for the draw a la boycott, tavare, athers forget the macho stuff..we don't need quick runs..cook has to anchor the inns twice..slowly,slowly catch a monkey |
By:
Bit tricky with the phone in. Miss most of the good deals. Make about 620 on this game. Nothing to write home about but taking a slow and steady approach this year. Got a wife, 3 kids and a mortgage to try and cover now. Bit different to the glory days of 3+ years ago when life was a party and money was a non issue...

Expect Aus to have a dash now and declare 30 minutes before tea.
Staying out of the market still but might go for a draw lay should it go odds on. Off for a bit of gardening, will have another look later. |

Aussies out in plenty of time. Might be a hint of things to come. Up the scoring, get ready to declare 5-10 overs after tea IMO
By:
england are f*cked.
starc and hazlewood. |
By:
wicket is quicker and it is nibbling about even with a ball that almost 40 overs old.
if you put the ball in the right place here, consistently, it's not a 550/600 wicket. broad and wood have showed that this morning. |
By:
Haven't looked at the rankings, but Starc has to be the best bowler in the world without question. Just unfortunate for him that Johnson beat him into the team as a left quick, as he would be well established by now.

came out of the aussie lay..laid the draw again
By:
Laid the draw? Surely the draw can't move until Aus declare and Eng lose wickets? Seems a long way away to be putting in a lay now...

not too sure there's prices are going anyway quickly until after tea.

what score do u think the aussies want? 550/600 or midwayish
By:
just got a bad feeling about the eng reply..my crystal ball is seeing wkts going down
By:
Yeah exactly. Seems like this innings is pretty much decided. Will be about 550-600 regardless of wickets, and 20-25 overs bowling at England tonight.
Not much can really change that short of England going through the Aus batting order and bowling them out quickly, which seems very unlikely. |
By:
i think it's a time thing now.
there's no way they'll let the openers prepare over tea, they'll want them in the field for as long as possible, but still want to have a reasonable crack, say 10 to 14 overs, tonight. pootle along to 500 ish by about 3:15, then start to have a slog. i think England will be looking at about 625. |
