We want to see good fast bowling, against good batsmen, on a wicket that gives batsmen an excellent chance of scoring big runs, if they play well, but give the bowler a chance of taking wickets, if he bowls well, which is what we haven't got here. Now I would always state, that until both sides have batted, you don't know how good or bad the pitch is, but this one has had nothing in it today, whatsoever. Get the Australian bowlers on it and it might do something, but it also might not.Which is why I think the WACA is the best test match wicket

Yes, its certainly a good wicket, especially for Australia, when they play England, as English batsmen do not play well on bouncy pitches, however we are playing in England at the moment, where the pitches should be prepared to suit England and have been at Cardiff.

English batsmen will be tired from chasing leather, so their concentration levels, will not be as high as usual, so quick wickets can fall due to that fact.

funnily enough aus may have more chance of winning if they lose wkts as it will give them a chance to bowl eng out twice whereas if they ontinue batting with it being still difficult for wkts to fall then the draw becomes more probable unless eng bat poorly(twice)

i'm getting a feeling that england are going to take an absolute shellacking here.

starc and hazlewood to clear us up in the first innings, starc and lyon in the 2nd.

yes it is, but the surface is definatly quicker this morning, which will suit Australia, when they come to bowl.

this is how we needed broad to bowl yesterday morning.

we are in one of those phases, as occasionally happens in test matches, where a wicket or 2 makes a draw more likely not less likely

sorry what? u think they can get 20 wickets on this?

By:

When: 17 Jul 15 11:44
i don't think they'll follow on whatever happens smirnoff, because they'll want england to bat last, but i'm thinking a margin of victory greater than 200 runs.

i think the term scoreboard pressure is a bad one, as it implies that a large score only places additional burden on the batsmen whereas i think that it's equally the case that it takes a huge amount of pressure off the bowlers and the fielding captain allow them to perform better.
