2005 Ashes England lost by 259 runs at Lords in the first test. The Aussie team was much stronger then. England were bowled out for 155 in the first innings. We still comfortably won the series and have won every series in England since.Suddenly an Aussie side that has just made 2 emergency changes after 1 test in a series are world beaters in English conditions? I don't think so. England had one bad half session after spending almost two days in the field it. That is all.

World beaters?  No, they simply need to beat an England side with a sub 100 rating in world rankings.

What a ridiculous thing to say you need to be world beaters to beat an English side that can only beat themselves on most days....

Billy Bell has started to show signs of the "Vaughan Syndrome". Getting bowled and making it look unplayable, when in fact it is poor footwork & technique

English side that beat the Aussies by 169 runs last week and a stronger New Zealand side a few weeks before that.

Won a toss that was worth an easy 250 runs.  So they should have won.....

Same English side that lost the toss here on a pitch described by all and sundry as a road, who are 4/85?

Toss decides all in England.

Bell is a lock in the team, and deserves the right to play through and find his form again.  Looking to replace him is far from an option.  IMO

32?  Just a pup.  Got another half a decade yet before worrying about retiring.  This is cricket, not nippers....

I don't think stokes will last long here he will play a over aggressive shot and get out like usual

Realistically, in this team, he should be captain.

hazlewood really could do gaining a extra 4 mph of pace, 87 mph is a massive difference rather than 83 mph, he has to work this out some way

Bell hasn't got the temperament to be captain, even though his nickname is the "Duke"

They say form is temporary and class is permanent. Bell's form looks permanent

Siddle is as weak as Aussie beerWink. Since he became a vegan he's lost a yard.

To be fair, I do like a bit of VB and Carlton full strength. Too much cooking lager (2% sh1te) for me though in Aus

i never knew the pace of the wicket affected the elasticity of a batsman's pads.

takes a specialist to field a short leg really that can read the ball of the bat

Pretty sure England are the hopers.  Aus will do what they think will give them the advantage, not just sit back and hope...
