No I disagree.

Holding was saying it was a tough call to make with any certainty and certainly in days of yore it would never have been given out because there was plenty of doubt as the batsman was a long way forward.

Where I disagree with Holding is that this continuing bleating about losing a review on Umpires call is so unfair.  In my view it is not unfair. DRS was brought in not to make sure the correct decision is always made but to give the opportunity to over turn howlers of which we were blighted with for some time.

The Umpire game him out. Watson should have walked. He used the DRS as a tactical weapon. The decision was not a howler. DRS showed the ball hitting the stumps but Watson was unlucky the umpire gave it in my view but such is cricket. Don't complain about losing a review.

if holding is right if a batsman gets bowled but the ball just grazes the stumps then he should be not out then.

drs is to overturn bad decisions, if a ball is going to hit the stumps, and meets all other criteria, then how is it a bad decision.

In fact if the batsman is given not out and stays with onfield decision it should be said that the batsman has got away with one.

England have busted this game open. Anything over 250 to chase in the 4th innings will be too much for Aussies

FFS Stokes just releasing the pressure. Why did Broad only bowl 3 overs in that spell

in agreement with WD.

too many people see DRS as devolving the absolute decision to technology, when in fact it is an appeal that you believe there is conclusive evidence to overturn the umpires decision. that's what the review is, and you lose that if there is no conclusive evidence.

holding chose the wrong word, it wasn't a bad decision from erasmus, but it was borderline.

if the ball is hitting the stumps it shouold be out regardless of the umps decision

then we do away with umpires all together then.

Umpires in international are basically there to make sure the two teams behave themselves. Everything else is controlled by technology

yep. for any of us who dont make Test standard we have umpires who are human. This game is not NFL. It is a game. If it was just hitting the stumps or just missing the stumps is immaterial. If it was missing by inches or clipped the bat first is not. I think DRS is great just the way it is.

I don't know if any of you remember the first time Javed Miandad was given out lbw in Pakistan was when there were neutral umpires during a world cup. we have come a long way since then.

i think is  a bad  decision to get  the  new  ball ,  old  ball doing well for them now the  ball will come  well on bat , i can see  a lead of  under 60 with  this  new ball decision

I know juce,

and people are complaing about losing a review when they elect for a tactical review and gets umpires call!

I seem to recall Mikey kicking over the stumps in Aus once...when in Rome dear boy as Athers once said!

Great bowling from Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad, Aussies really being asked questions and not coming up with any answers, so far.

Massive red on Aussies for me. If they manage to win from this position I will most likely have to slit myself Surprised

Aus have one of the worst record for numbers of overs batted in the 4th innings.

Would be very pleasing if England can go into the sheds with at least a 100 run lead

it's worth watching jupiter ascending for eddie redmayne's absolutely awful performance. It sets new boundaries for sh1t acting.

just goes to show, play someone with a disability, but don't go "full retard", and the oscar is yours, no matter how bad an actor you are.
