By:

TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
By:
what a mug shot
By:
just think if we had a decent front line spinner instead of Moen Ali!
Only got Smith and Clarke! |
By:
![]() Prediction: Watto LBW not many. |
By:
watson is a liabililty, how can he even be in this team
By:
caught at mid off playing through mid on

What an old side Oz are. Their bowlers will cause us problems on quicker pitches but of their batting I would only take Warner and Rogers (retd September) to replace Lyth and Ballance (harsh on both).
We've gone for youth, they're living on past glories. |
By:
I would take Warner, Rogers, Smith and Clarke then we have Root, Stokes and Butler
By:
it is quite clear " the market " doesn't know where this game is going.
Aus are now favourites but are still 179 behind with 6 second inning wickets standing. I think the pitch is an unknown factor and also possible weather issues. England are the outsiders but have runs on the board and may well be bowling last. I personally think the drawn is most likely result but an England win is in the frame. I would make Aus chance the same as England right now. |
By:
england can win this if they apply the pressure
By:
OOoooh its 3.0 your pick on Eng-Aus-Draw
By:
boom,
that has blown the market up! |
By:
night watchman suppose to come to face the tune now , see result is definitely there as still 275 overs game left ..say 45 overs required for aussis to square the lead now in that case even 230 overs game left the way runs are scores at the @ of 3.75 make a guess game do have 860 runs left after square off means 430 runs for each to score more ...if i go with this logic still there is a definite result in this game
By:
still 168 runs behind i guess eng will take atleast 60 runs ahead at the finish of first inning , they should be disappointed if they cant able to do that
By:
think there will be a result in this unless there isn't

I can see scores level at the end of day 3 with rain predicted for Sunday
Draw is still a very good bet imo |
By:
Sunday doesn't look like a washout, maybe a couple of showers. tough one to call right now.
By:
Sunday is THE big question mark ??? as you say

+1 Still 2 batsmen left and the best batting tail in the biz to come, but also the new ball in 10 overs. I'd give Oz a bit less than 50% chance of levelling scores with nearly half the overs left assuming no rain. Then, as I said yesterday, game will hinge on how well Eng bat 2nd inn. |
By:
I think a lay of Oz is the call at the moment at 3.25 as I think that is by far the least likeliest outcome at present.
By:
With you there pixie. Aus not out of this by any means but 3.25 looks like an excellent value lay especially with the possibility of rain
on Sunday - I'd price Aus around 5.5. |
By:
so we are 160 behind, I think we still have enough batting in the shed to cover the deficit
let's see what England have learned, they had us on the ropes multiple times back in Australia 5 down but couldn't get the tail out |
By:
After two days of trading on this event I reluctantly had to push the "cash out" I can't split any of the three possibilities see my Twitter handle @mostlose for position etc. good luck to you all for the next three days. I'm done
By:
I've been sitting on my pre match lay of England for 2 days and it looks like it's starting to go sour, so like Gabriel, I've cashed out for a small loss. More important to protect capital at this stage as things could run away quickly from here. The guys who are laying Aus may well be right but I'm going to sit out until we see how they fess up tomorrow morning then take stock again.
Australia batting with one exception has been disappointing. They need to get their act together quickly otherwise they are heading for defeat. |
By:
"small loss" refers to my position and not necessarily that of Gabriel.

By:
England in front but the Aussie tail are a nuisance.
By:
Big lay of the draw at 2.84....I see Aus adding 100 for their last 5 wickets in the morning session. England batting and scoring 220-5 by the close. Thats a lead of 2800 by end of day 3 with 5 wickets left. By lunch of day 4 Eng all out and 400 ahead. Leaving Aus 5 sessions to score 400. To me that is the most likely scenario, with runs being scored at 4+ an over and the pitch not getting any better I would have the draw closer to 3.8 and so will lay anything under 3.
By:
I will eat my hat if the Aussies only add another 100 here. Could see Watson getting a century and Haddin still to bat. I think they will bat virtually until tea myself.
I still fancy the draw, but agree it's a very tight call. |
By:
Watson is due to make a major contribution when we are under pressure, I keep telling myself he will sooner or later but I haven't seen it.. ever
By:
day 5 weather has improved significantly, relatively clear for now, personally would not have aussie outsider of three !!!
By:
i would be very wary with the weather until sunday morning, at the moment forecast is for weather to clear mid morning, i don't trust the forecast for more like 8hrs out, so will keep an eye on that, could have no rain or just as likely rain till lunch?
By:
lump on England draw no bet and sit back and relax
By:
emm, don't know about that Mike, The Aussie tail, as it is could wag furiously enough to give them a small lead, Hadden is 37 now, so I am not expecting big runs from him, Watson generally gets 50 and out, but Johnson, Starc and Lyon could all get the Aussies up and just past England. An England collapse, is always likely, we were slightly fortuetous, to get 430 in the 1st innings. Any result is possible, but today, should tell us, where this game is likely to go.
By:
Draw drifted out to 3 without any balls bowled. Might have something to do with the weather. I was listening to the Boycott and Aggers podcast this morning and Boycs says with the pace that this game is played at, there will be a result....I tend to agree and will continue to lay the draw.
