186 for 1 wicket at tea. This is looking like a 600-5 dec job.

what is the point of these dead pitches i would prefer a green top fast pitch, you get better cricket all round

Not really bothered watching (glad having seen the scoreboard).  Apparently India bowling pretty poor lengths - no surprises there.  Being 1-0 up in the series I fully expect to see defensive tactics from India.  Anything in the surface for the bowlers?

cook dropped, few edges in gaps could have been different, but toothless spin-why not play proper bowlers-2 mod attacks on show here

these pitches are boring to watch, but they make sure the game gets 4 or 5 days, a must for each venue nowadays under the current system.
the hosting county loses money if the game only lasts 3 days, so they just cant risk it anymore.

Match odds are not at all impressed with the wicket. The Eng price hasn't moved at all with Eng 210/1. The draw backed to 1.83.

Bell's ringing. Does he make a score today?

Total and utter kock.

I have to say I felt sorry for him after Lords.  He made that speech on TV and I felt like saying shut up man.  Don't say anything except apologise to the fans for the teams poor showing after lunch.  He was like a rabbit in the headlights.  He also had that look of the dead man walking a little like Trott in the winter.  I was by the media centre when he walked past and through the crowd after giving the TV interviews and he looked terrible.  My heart went out to him and I felt like saying something encouraging but I didn't get it out in time.

After that on reflection and on hearing Piers Morgan's tirade on Talksport about Co ck the weasel who sat in silence as KP was fired and how KP became the scapegoat I thought FU cook, management stooge.  FU ECB.  FU Giles Clarke, Andy Flower, Peter Moores. F all of you!

Having got that off my chest I had a feeling for a kock 100 today!  I was out with Mrs"Death getting angrier and angrier buying blinds and all sorts of sheite.  But now I am glad I didn't have a bet on Co ck getting a hundred!  and Mrs 'death isn't all bad afterall!

Balance has been steadiness personified this innings. Excellent hundred. Root is in next, once he gets his feet planted in the crease he's also difficult to remove.

Blind beat curtains any day...Happy

Let's hope you got the measurements right!

I'm pleased Cook made a score. His batting has never been the issue. The runs would always return but his captaincy will remain the worry. A good captain would have won the SL series.

The KP saga remains unedifying. Strong leadership is rarely seen these days so I wasn't surprised Cook bowed to Flower et al.

Great advice I was given years ago re being a fan of any club/country is to support the shirt not the person...

1.01 about to be gubbed.
Durham 311-7 off 50 overs, Somerset were 106-5, but James Hildreth and Lewis Gregory have put on 200 since.

I think Ballance like Root has the right temperament for this type of cricket.  Just needs a bit of work like most on the front foot early on.  Good to see these players taking their chance.  I think Root is actually quite good on the front foot he just doesn't know it yet!

Ashwin should be playing instead of Dharwan with somebody else to open maybe Rahane but I fancy a Dharwan 100 on Tuesday and an entertaining 100 at that particularly if Broad " The Enforcer " and Anderson the Pusherman bowl wide filth.

Mrs 'Death has been quiet since we got home thanks for asking Terry and allowed me to watch the cricket albeit with headphones.  Can't really complain about that particularly as she cooked the peri peri chicken wings and also green curry from John Lewis ( most authentic Confused ).

Draw nailed on for me as long as Engerland don't hoist the white flag!  I am going to leave my opening bets as they stand.
