trying to get this right.

lara....it's going to rain

slip....they are not scoring fast enough.  You need to score at 4 an over to win a test Match!

Max,

Just go to Croydon.  The place is full of Lankans and get someone to call home!

My Accountant gives me the SP.  He said the pitch is usuallly good here and doesn't spin as fast as Galle.

DeKock and Duminy both left-handers so when they get one of these out they can get into the rough and the next two should be pretty quick !

Not made any changes today, I'm green on SL and SA and red on draw up to half my exposure limit. Don't see any reason to be concerned about the draw possibility at this early stage, will wait and see what happens tomorrow.

On one online weather forecast I have looked at it says Saturday chance of rain 80%, the draw moved from 1.99 to 2.04?

Is it raining tomorrow???

I think breaking the current partnership is crucial.  The next two batsmen are both good but left hookers, so vunerable to the rough.  One wicket tomorrow morning gets two maybe three and the tail.

Russel Arnold did say the pitch may die rather than spin outrageously.  The pitch is very dry and breaking uo but SL still need to take 15 wickets to win the match.  A first innings lead by the end of day 3 wins the game, weather aside for me.  Happy to be on SL now.  Looking for a couple of market situations to exploit rather than change position.

SAF have no real prospect of winning this, unless SL collapse or make an aggresive declaration. I'm happy to lay SAF at this stage. If they bat all day 3 then draw comes in substantially. More likely they are out by stumps still well behind.

I think we have to remember that Mathews said before the 2nd Test that he was prepared to lose 2-0 in order to achieve victory. An interesting decision come the 4th day.

The official SL forecast for today is identical to yesterday - showers, if that helps.

Draw has shortened quite a bit. It must be raining in Colombo.

A bit concerned this may become a draw train rest of today. With the draw around 1.35 at stumps.

Fortunately, I have modest red on the draw.

I greened up draw and sl win yesterday evening when the game went flat. Was hoping to dip back in today but nothing is getting me remotely interested. Nevertheless we all know it can change in a second in this part of the world.

duminy not great against spin imo
By:

he's going to have to sweep or he will get out just defending
By:

When: 26 Jul 14 07:32
Duminy might as well be running down and going for boundaries because he's a lamb to the slaughter defending.

20 runs in the last 17 overs! That new ball should have a bit more fizz. I think they are trying to get one of these with the old ball & then clean up with the new. It's not as if they are putting pressure on the bowlers to make Mathews take the new cherry

I think it makes sense to save the new ball for the RH's in next - they could potentially do a bit of damage with a ball a few overs old.

He never had a chance - should have tried to whack a few runs.
