south africa are not good at playing spin on turning wickets, 1st test match was more a fast bowlers pitch with the old ball reverse swinging

sunday monday rain looks ****... could be over by then

Not much to go on at the moment. have backed SL to even things up a bit (insurance) but am still long green on SA and red on draw. Not convinced that this will be a draw as the wicket should deteriorate so will lay draw some more if it shortens significantly tomorrow.

I am surprised that the draw is so short. The ball is turning appreciably already. Even Tahir is looking dangerous although without luck. Herath scares me. Perera looks good and Mendis has in the past and could on this pitch pose a big threat too. I was impressed how well SA planned the spin last game. It will be more difficult this time around I am sure.
SL have the runs on the board already. Scoring is made easier by a decent paced pitch. I think the game will advance significantly tomorrow. I started with a small bet on SA but have been laying the draw at about evens. Here's the thing. As usual people seems to think past equals futre so SSC is a nailed on draw. This is a new pitch and we don't know how it will deteriorate. Angelo says the pitch is drier than usual but some have said not as dry as Galle. Are people betting on the draw on historical grounds or genuine fear of rain? I am tempted to take the market on again. |

Glad others think this doesn't look like a draw from here.
I have big green on SAF, but they are in danger of being batted out of the game. Don't really have an option except to look to increase my SL green and reduce my draw red somewhat. |

I want to lay draw big but I fearing Sundays weather forecast don't look the best.currently on draw but might reverse position

My local knowledge would be much appreciated

Feel SAF need a decent 1st inn lead to win this.
Batting last against 3 frontline spinners will mean runs hard to come by. |
By:
I agree about SA first innings lead being imperative and a healthy lead. I feel they must get SL out for around 350 to have a chance to do this. I am of the belief the pitch is still good to bat on, it should be at it's best today and I think the SA is formidable. I'd be expecting in excess of 400 from them maybe more.
I guess it is a watch and see situation. The three spinners are all good but how much help will they get from the pitch? |

Morning WD,
A winning scenario for SAF requires them to get the remaining 5 SL wickets quickly with the new ball. I must admit, I don't have confidence they will. The new SL WK comes with a good reputation and Herath is no mug and can stay around for a while. |

quite a lot of rough from the bowlers' follow through! Mike Haysmen in the report says its like a late day 3 pitch
By:
quite a few lefties in the SA side too!
By:
Reversed out of my SA bet for a loss. Topped up on SL win.
By:
yeh SA would have to do something amazing to win from here! I'm just on SL now too.
By:
pile em' on, bowl them out and make them follow. That would be perfect!

Young Dick looking like a special player already! IMHO game is going away from SA. Steyn looks like he has a twinge. It is looking to be the pitch against the weather from here. The pitch is good for batting though so the longer SL can bat the better their chance of winning.

weather looks ok for today, tomorrow & sunday/monday is mainly overnight rain. Could be a few showers & a bit of rain on monday
By:
I'd say it's already gone from SAF.
I await the SL spinners with interest. |
By:
yes I am red SA now. Just looking for a draw covering opportunity.
By:
People are going to have a field day with Dickwella's name.
The Dick Slash The Dick Pull I could go on. |
By:
Wouldn't mind 500+ from SL. Brings the follow on into play. And with spinners bowling SL should go for it, were the opportunity to eventuate.

I would definitely advise anybody to get out of any draw position. Enough in this track to get a result. SL should be odds on & the draw 2/1.

Have we seen enough to be smugly satisfied?
Good change around in positions there! |

I think if you are really picky there are probably five/six test matches a year where you can make a lot of money without the stress of week in week out betting

beauty!

BOOM - lovin all this spin. Big ask for SA to scrape a draw here !
By:
silva is like a little rat at short leg.

By:
if amla or de v get out before stumps, then the arse will fall out of this market. Not a pitch for tailenders either
By:
Looking forward to Mendis too - took India apart on this deck couple of years ago
By:
fill yer boots here. 1.9 is a great price for SL. Going through the top at pace on the 2nd day. Reminds me of a game SA played in India
