would loveit if he got out with Root on 199

batting for an extra hour to let Root attempt to get his two hundred is fine if Cook has no plans to bat again should he be in a position to invite Sri Lanka to follow on.

drinks now - what is Cook thinking? If SL are 8 down with 3 overs left on day 5 with 10 and 11 at the crease he'll be a right mug

drinks now - what is Cook thinking? If SL are 8 down with 3 overs left on day 5 with 10 and 11 at the crease he'll be a right mug he'd be pretty confused as well i'd imagine if 10 and 11 were at the crease and they were only 8 down. as i say, this is fine, so long as he doesn't bat again if he can enforce the follow on. you should only be thinking about batting once going for this sort of score. |
|
By:
I disagree with most on here, I think Cook is right and they should get 600 before they declare as it gives them a much better chance to enforce the follow on and the runs are being scored so freely at the moment.

What's the problem with England batting on, provided it's at a fair pace? We haven't seen 1.5 days of the game yet - how can the remaining 3.5 days not be enough?
|
|
By:
think you right pixie because if SL can't get 400 on this pitch on the Saturday they are in big trouble. No point putting other side in when the deck is so bat friendly.

|
By:
will be hard work getting the second 10 wickets, on this pitch, with no break in between
|
|
By:
review - got 2 left - might as well. Do they want him out is the question?

Yeah 200 at 4 an over - he was dawdling. 575 for 9 declared 40 minutes before tea on the second day. The batting line up has done its job. |

Harmison never got done when he did it ?
Cant remember him bowling 50 wides in an hour. |

Dont give a bum a break
England might just have timed this perfect for a late Lankan rally to the victory line... ![]() |

loads of time left in this game. even if sl get 400 to 450 england can still set them 400 in 4 sessions or thereabouts
|

house,
My considered opinion or guess is that the pitch is still good. lay of England or back draw are still the bets but there may well be an early wicket, maybe 2 so that would be the the time to buy in not right now although getting some in now isn't a bad idea because if the opener's have no problem the draw price will crash and England will rise. |
