Big assumption chat.
If SL do not score 400 plus they could be in trouble if the pitch continues to dry out late Sunday and Monday. Still 3 2/3 days left! They could score 350 in a day that leaves England 2 1/2 days to bat some quick runs and have another pop. Still hoping the Lankans show what an easy paced pitch this is as I am getting a big red on England now! Also going to have another dip on SL @20+ as I feel if the pitch is good, SL can score fast and bat themself safe but still expose England to a potential skittling resulting in people having to take protection against an unlikely SL win so may be able to lay it back if the price falls significantly. I Backed WI at 50 against Black Caps only as cover for red but if I had any bottle i could have gone bigger and bought it back at 5! |

im still unsure im greening nice on the draw and still feel SL will bat long spell or should i now trade out the draw.. still think draw will drop to odds on or less
|
|
By:
SL i cant see scoring at same rate so that will take a session or two extra if they can hold onto wickets
|

I wouldn't trade out of the draw yet!
Big question is how SL batsmen will fare against England so called quicks. There is a perception that little brown men are scared of fast bowling. This will prove to be a joke when Kohli and Sharma stroll up. I think SL batsmen are used to fast bowling and this pitch is benign enough not to trouble them too much if they don't get over ambitious. Draw backers need to hold firm here and hope SL don't lose too many early wickets. They still have the Holy trinity of Mahela, Sanga and Angelo. I would expect a big hundred of one of them and Silva has been in the runs. They also bat down the order so patience and some bottle is the key. If you really have some big cajones then the lay of England could proves fortuitous too. |

Where is West Coast Eagles?
Word of the day somnolent! |

i'd say a lot of indian batsman are undone by their own hubris in england more than pace. in particular kholi, sharma and raina. a bit of patience and care and there are still plenty of runs to be had.

I am looking forward to it DStyle.
A glorious summer of runs like '76! |

Yeah SL will score quick versus the fast bowlers and very shrewd of them to let Broad tire himself out. SL will have 700 by this time on Sunday tea.

Yeah I reckon Cook is waiting for Root to hit 200 - romance of records could cost the win. SL ain't rushing about now

|

how do sri lanka win this please?
score 750 chasing 600 and bowl england out in two sessions seems a bit more remote than 30-1 |

England backers will be getting a bit jittery now

why didn't England select a proper spinner? Must have been nervous about their batting depth. Might regret that on day 5

By:
declaration a long way off me thinks...

market contemplating draw at last
![]() Just hoping SL get off to a good start as I took lay of England just in case they got them selves out for 470 odd. England could declare but pitch looks so benign they might think they were giving SL openers a free pass. Might as well pile them high and hope for a pitch deterioration, which, could happen. I have plenty of green on draw and don't want to give it back to cover England so hoping SL bat and bat. |

SL won't mind Eng batting on here - it's their bet chance of saving the match - every ball is one they don't have to face
