By:

By:
also someone on the ground on the Channel 9 footage, is holding a red umbrella on the wicket
By:
Absolute nonsense. No way will they start on time. Only 40 mins to go to start and it's still raining here.
By:
start time was supposed to be 10:30am.............radar at 11:10am says it wont be ready
By:
that's what ian is saying on sky!
By:
all of the passing showers will be gone be 11:40am, and there will be an inspection+getting the field ready (takes at least 15-20 minutes) . I reckon its a 1.5 hour delay at least

By:
the comms don't think about us lot betting! ****s!
By:
which tv commentary set is better? The Channel 9 V Sky Sports?
By:
got nothing to with betting.
the weather is intrinsic to the result today which is what they're talking about. |
By:
Ian Healy, Michael Slater and Mark Nicholas are doing the pitch report with an Umbrella on! Fcken comedy
By:
i was being sarcastic
By:
9 used to be oustanding.
i loved Tony Grieg, especially with Bill and Richie in his heyday was peerless. But nicholas is intolerable, Healy is facking one eyed eedjut, Tubbs brings little, Slats is awful, Chapelli still good. Sky a very professional unit, with the exception of Botham who's lazy and boorish, and Warne is a puerile tit. Strauss a bit weak, but needs time to bed in. |
By:
Sounds as though the pressure is on some of us too.
Keep calm and carry on. |
By:
Tony Greig, Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry are in a different class to Nicholas, Slater and Healy
By:
The covers are still on. Looks like the drizzle might be clearing, but hard to say. The start is definitely delayed but maybe we will see some play before lunch? Not sure.
By:
Im guessing 1-1.5 hour delay
By:
Update. Some covers being removed. No more rain imminent.
By:
based on the radar pictures

I can't bear Nicholas.
If a sport needs second-rate, hoary, contrived and overdramatic commentary to draw attention to the action and situation, it's a rubbish sport. Cricket is not that sport and therefore that narcissistic pr1ck Nicholas has no place in a commentary box. He ruins my enjoyment of watching the game. I enjoyed this little story about Spanky Roebuck. "He had the sharpest of minds (he took a double first in law at Cambridge) and, when the mood overcame him, a lacerating tongue as well. A brilliant writer on cricket for among others The Sunday Times and the Sydney Morning Herald, he was once accosted by Mark Nicholas, who penned a regular column himself at the time and informed Roebuck that they were the best cricket writers around. “Who told you that” quipped Roebuck, “your mother?”" |

By:
Dam. Start of play and England nearly a sensible price. I was hoping for more of that 50s, 70s, etc to lay.
By:
Play commences at 10:40!
By:
Hoping Eng bat for a while and we get some irrationally big odds on Eng.
By:
Geez so much drama on here. Hugely unlikely any overs will be lost
By:
yep dont think any overs will be lost today, will get the full 90 in
